I've never gone off Omega. I love them, especially the SMP 300m range. I think I was just expressing (or trying to) that like for like on new models I still perceive that Rolex have the edge.
Fair enough. You have some collection so it would be a real shame if you really fell out of love with them. I only have one Rolex (EXP II) and thankfully for my bank balance have no great desire to own any more just yet.

In a quirk of serendipity, the episode of the Simpsons on Sky right now is set in Brazil and they had that pavement just a few mins ago!

I'm not a huge fan of Omega but I do have one in the box and I would quite like a dynamic.

    And possibly an aquaterra.

Not the usual modern or vintage selection. A nice variety of rarer old models there.

I hope you'll all consider this on topic as it's about me appreciating Omega's... why do the Olympic special editions seem to not pull any favour with many watch enthusiasts. Are they just poor value for money? I happen to think a lot of them look quite nice, and I especially liked the Rio '16 Seamaster 300m with the coloured numbers around the bezel - I thought the colour gave it a bit more of a pop. Interested to hear your thoughts.

Still have a Seamaster 1000MT, Flightmaster 911, Mk 2 and 3 Speedmaster and a Soccer chrono to do a set of images for when I get the time.

I love it, I even posted the pic of it on this thread on arrival. Some of the Olympic ones hit the mark, some don't.

I'd have preferred it to be limited to 2016, instead of 3016 (strange number, but hey an extra 1000 sales!). There were also othe models for the Olympics, including a MKII Speedmaster.

At least it's no an edition of 10,007 like the Bond watch - but then they always increase in value quite well despite the numbers.
It's just a matter of time...

Nothing rare or unusual but love these two! Probably get the most wear of my 6 between them as I wear them to work a lot.

Egyptfive, the big blue is gorgeous....

There is a lever here who owns a speedy which uses the moonwatch case and utilises the lemania 5100 or in omega language the 1045 movement.
It is also known as the grail and the ref no is 376.0822.
I am so much looking forward to those pictures!

Got this today! Mint/unmarked and well south of original list price.
A marmite Speedy I'm guessing. Personally, I really like these. A bit different and the titanium is quite cool IMHO
Put it on a temporary strap while I get the Titty one adjusted/links added
Hard to get a decent leather strap in extra long and at the correct 21mm size..... another project for Steveo methinks!

    Who likes/hates the HB-SIA?

There's no getting over it so best to just accept the situation and sell it to me I'll even take it with 'that' strap to ensure a clean break from at least one of them. Seriously no one needs two of them...
