Thread: The Omega appreciation thread

    The Omega appreciation thread

As we've had the Breitling thread up and running for some time I thought I would re-balance things with an appreciation thread for Omega.

I'm starting with this modest Ti 2231.50.00 but I'm sure there's someone out there with a Speedy.

    Good idea.

I love that model, I've had a couple of that variant and they wear amazingly well.

Then we can keep contents of certain brands going in the same threads, rather than 101 threads on a similar vein.

Also did Haywood mention Omega AD's were recently made aware of an imminent price rise?
It's just a matter of time...

First week of March I have been told, prices to rise between 5-10%

Great idea - I think I have the honour of showing the first Speedy (Apollo 11 45th) :-)

I too prefer mine on straps, hence the various states of undress in the pic above. Lovely selection you have there, particularly like the non-AC

Looks like Omegamanic is quite partial to Omega divers too! Nice collection indeed and a nice mix of styles and eras. 2 Ploprofs? Seems excessive lol. For balance I will throw in a bit of less regularly seen Speedmaster Auto:

And a 1973 F300. I really love this watch and it get a lot of wear, including today.

I'll join in - here's my Globemaster. Only owned it a month or so but I'm loving the blue and the fluted bezel catches the light really nicely in real life (hard to capture on iPhone camera!)

That is a stunner, must pop in to my local OB and take a proper look

The Globemaster looks great. I picked one up last month, and I'm very pleased with it. I just found the 8500 Aqua-Terra missing something compared to the previous model, and there are few of the regular Constellation range that appealed to me, until the Globemaster - dressy as needed, and 100m WR. At last a true alternative to the Date-Just from Omega in a nice wearable size. It could easily become a daily wearer for me.

My 120m, certainly a great entry into Omega ownership....

A good mix of smart/casual on the RIOS Shark Skin strap

And on a Nato in its natural enviroment....

I also had an AT Quartz (38.5mm), before the 120m but found it a bit too chunky, lovely detail on the dial though

Sadly no longer own this(one of those where tight times strike rather than joys of trading up), I miss it.

What is the one on the rhs? A BA 3303 or 3313 variant? Don't recognise it. Has a lot of CK2998 about it, though it must have come first I guess.

Thanks. It is actually a very cheap silicone rubber curved end strap from Cousins. They are only a few quid but are a bit thin and insubstantial next the official Omega rubber offerings. To be honest I am not all that enamoured with it and it will be swapped for something in buffalo leather before too long. They are of course about £120 cheaper than Omega's though so are worth a try. Cousins do some very nice and very cheap straps and are definitely worth a look.

I now understand Scott's thread after seeing the pics!

    My latest arrival:

An unworn AT that was an impulse buy as a potential one watch. Not sure I'm ready for that yet so potentially surplus and off to a dealer in 14 days although I'm increasingly tempted to try it as it is lovely and the annual calendar function is handy:

    Love this for its quirkiness:
