There is already a thread on this watch. http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...Diver-official
I like it personally thanks for posting the article link.

Certainly better than the early render but it's nothing special is it? It looks more generic than Damasko.
Handled it over the weekend at Viennatime. The blue, black, white and orange don't mix well in my opinion. I was underwhelmed with this, especially when compared to their other sport models. Plus, according to the reps at the booth, this model is NOT ice hardened like much of the rest of their line.
It's far too big for that wrist.
I actually find this very disappointing - I think it's a bit of a dogs dinner to be honest.
Too many colours and has been stated, very generic in appearance. Oh, and what on earth is that blue pip all about?! I would suggest that if this was a Kickstarter project nobody would give it a second look.
It's a 'no' from me - I think Damasko should stick to what they do best...

What were they thinking, this could have been a great watch but they seemed to mess up most aspects of the watch. Must try harder.....
I'm generally a fan of Damasko's aesthetic but this is wholly uninspiring. It lacks anything original and could have come from a host of boutique brands out there. If they've dropped the ice hardening, I can't really see the point.
It's a massive Meh! from me. Shame really as I'm a fan of Damasko.
Damasko has a theme, a niche, a style, a certain look. This isn't it.

They have also developed a new clasp, not much info on it yet:

Keeping it covered might have been a better idea.
The 4pm date window results in an instant NO from me.
The design of the watch is unattractive I'm afraid - I'm wondering if it might look better with a black or dark grey dial? Or maybe it is beyond hope

Why are the hands so mismatched? I realise that there should be differences to make it easy to read the time, but those hands look as if they came from 2 completely different watches!
Surface hardened submarine steel, so the case is suited to it's intended use, also it looks highly legible to me. It's probably just what a dive watch needs to be. I'll be interested to read reports of it being used for diving, and whether it's fit for purpose.

Hmm, I have always found Damasko's aesthetics to be basic at best, if not plain ugly.
And this takes them to another level.
It'll be a no from me, I'm afraid.
Which is a shame, as the specification is, as usual, impressive.
I'd love to like it, but I can't

I picked up my first Damasko just a month or so ago and I really like it. I am not totally convinced about this one but it looks promising if they were to pursue the design theme further.
Too many colours for me. Would like to see it in black/silver with the date window at 3......
No, no, no, it’s all wrong…the wrist that is. Every wrist needs to know its limits.
I would expect to find that watch in a store selling diving equipment, nestling between diving regulators and the like. And the bloke should be in a wetsuit, sitting astride a boat floating on sparkling waters.
As a non-pilot, I don’t find my Damaskos to be an easy wear, but as a jaded watch junkie they are two of few which still give me a bit of a rush. To my mind Damaskos don’t merely pander to a certain theme, niche or look. I see them as the product of a rigorous design philosophy. This watch looks complete and absolute, honest and unpretentious.
I won’t be buying a DSub1, but still would be interested to hear what a professional diver makes of one.
I won't be rushing to buy one and not sure the colours work but I suspect it could be a grower. I do think it's got Damasko meets Sinn diver styling which ought to be positive!
From what I gather, the only time you will see a "dive watch" on a keen diver is when he is in the bar afterwards. I suppose this one will be visible in dim light and slightly blurred vision, and it's performance underwater is probably irrelevant.
It looks a bit blah...
From a construction point of view I think it'd be fine underwater.
However, I do have a serious reservation about the orange on the bezel. The colour will fade out as the wearer descends and without any border or contrast to those indices the referencing will disappear quickly.
This is my approximation of the effect on the bezel:
20m underwater
30m:

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
Interesting. I thought orange was the last colour to vanish from the human eye in darkness.
I do not like it, that small date window seems to float on the dial ...

Well, I rather like it!!! (Perhaps I need to go to SpecSavers then)
I quite like it - prefer this to the legions of sub-a-likes. Most will never go diving so colours fading hardly matter.
Only thing not sure about is that wonky date but definitely preferable to the 'floating' one in the mock-up.
Could be worse.
Date is a definite 'no' in that position.
Hands look like they came out of a parts bin.
Hope they've sorted out the sub standard lume.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
A big Damasko fan here who really would like a dive watch from them...but this is awful.
Orange markers on the bezel is a bad idea as the orange goes grey by 10m and you lose the contrast.
Hands are uninspiring....and more orange.
Not a fan of the dial colour - black option pls.
No hardened case...on a Damasko??
At least the bezel is indexed fully :-)
I like it except the blue dial, but apparently a black dial version is not far off.
As receptive as I am to Damasko, I would find it wholly unacceptable if the suitability of this watch for its stated purpose has been seriously compromised by the choice of colours. I like to think of Damasko as a provider of innovative, thorough and robust engineering solutions and have assumed that their expertise in producing pilots watches is transferable to the divers product.
The lume on my DC56 is less than I had expected leading me to also assume that the lume on this watch will be several magnitudes greater.
This might have been an opportunity to also offer a quartz model.
BTW, at what depth will a red submariner look like any other?
Edit: - Why does someone working in a submarine need a dive watch anyway?
Not too shabby. I wouldn't mind wearing it.
