Yeah thanks I think I was just lucky really as the seller pics weren't detailed enough to fully gauge condition. I've fancied one of these 7223's for ages and they're known as the "Quartz Bellmatic" as they replaced the Seiko mechanical Bellmatic at the end of the '70's. I love the angular case design which was common for the period. The bracelet is in almost new condition , is super-tight and full length so I'm very pleased.
Cheers
Neil

Welcome, Bjørn. Your best bet is to measure the exact crown tube dimensions including thread pitch, and get one from a general watch parts supplier. That's if you can swap the crown tube yourself. If you're taking it to a watchmaker then they should be able to find/source a compatible crown tube.
It's the shape of the lume pip. The grain of the finish of the black and silver paint on the insert. The shape of the Seiko dial text. The colour of the lume and general quality of the lume markers with the silver boarders. The 7002 dial is faked in abundance and some are scarily good. Hers is another shot of mine laying flat on the table. I will get another shot of a JDM version later.
And yes the hands, the easiest way to tell is the seconds hand shape of the surround of the lume, the 'meat ball'. It should have the same thickness as the length prior to the ball.

Thanks but it's limited knowledge and only what's come from some great members here and on SCWF. I'm always surprised by the quality if the AM dials. Makes finding a genuine example extremely hard. The 7002 is a rare watch to find in original condition. They're out there, though. The other sign is the way the insert sits slightly proud of the bezel edge or with a pronounced gap there. The Yobokies copies however do much better in this regard so it can often be much harder to tell. I believe the triangle area and lume pip are still the best way to tell but also the bevelled inside edge of the insert should be flat and not rounded. I am not 100% sure of that though I'd need to check. The rest is very common for 7002 am versions. Especially the colour of the lume and the surround. Seiko in yours is a little easier to tell apart from mine, however there are also copies that get this pretty much spot on. It's therfore a combination of other factors that would give you an idea of the watch's authenticity.

I've always had all stainless watches in the past but I've quite liked the look of the military style/field watch. The problem has always been that, on my wrist, they always look like I've just stolen 'em from a 12 year old kid, they're just way too small. My son has a SNK809K2 which I like but it just looks so lost on my arm.
So I spotted a SRP621K1 for what seemed like a really good price for a 4r36 movement and it's a 44mm case. Perfect!
It turned up yesterday and I have to say... I just don't like it. :(
I can't quite nail down why, though, just on my wrist it does nothing for me.
Size-wise it's fine, it looks bigger IRL than in any comparison pics, here it is next to my SUN019:
SHMBO has decided that she really likes it so she's claimed it as hers. And you know what? On her wrist, I like it?!
I think it will suit a distressed brown leather NATO, so that's an idea for Crimbo.
Thanks. I've already turned it in to a watchmaker, and they've said that Seiko can't supply the crown tube on its own. Only including the watch case.
Maybe I can find another watchmaker that can source a non-seiko part.
What worries me is that Seiko can only provide a whole new watch case, so maybe the crown tube is somehow integrated in the case?

Here's one that's been seen on the forum from time to time, Seiko's reverential homage to Sinn:
And here's a wristshot of my homage to the one above in turn, a modded 007 on an anvil bracelet:
If Seiko would remake the Spork with a 6R15, sapphire, and a machined bracelet clasp, I'd grab a new one in less time than it takes a catfight to break out in the Bear Pit.
OD green today
Had these on yesterday and today, two of my personal favourites.
Heh... Nah I was looking at your chest! ;)
Thank you! Bit small on the wrist but it's quite a nice little watch. Would like a 7546-604a really, though
I recently sold this but it unfortunately turned up at its new home needing some attention - assumed to have taken quite a knock in transit. Anyhow it's back in my care, hands re-set and reunited with its bracelet.
All is good!
And with a PADI variant...
2nd post for me on this thread with the same watch - should never have sold it and its taken ages to find another:
Just finished putting this together. NOS bezel, 7548 white day wheel and black 6119 date wheel as the replacement 7546 movement was sitting in a 3 o'clock case originally. Dial case and hands came from Cam in Oz. Thanks Cam if you see this!
Nice! this my seiko sports 200
