Got a 6900 'zombie hunter' incoming in next couple of days!
I'm thinking about building a small collection of Gs as it'll give me variation at my price point. Always loved a G!
I've got a fair few G shocks and casio watches - a couple of 5600's, a couple of 6900's , an ana digi 3500 that cost me all of £100 from amazon in a rush sale a few years ago, a calculator watch that was under £15, a dw290 that was under £40 - and a frogman I bought brand new in a Debenhams sale (!) for £250, which is probably the least worn of the lot due to the odd shape/size and pathetic alarm. I think they're great fun to wear and collect, very practical and the antithesis of the 'man jewellery' so often seen on watch fora. They work well, are very tough indeed, cheap with great 'lume' - a watch like the gw5600 is really an incredible bit of kit, but nobody will ever notice, it's just so low profile. And it'll allow you to flip to your hearts delight without breaking the bank! (Whisper it, but I don't get the point of these expensive new g shocks the size of a dinner plate - it's all about the classics imho!)

^^^^Completely agree. I'm on the hunt for a couple more 6900 variants and funny you should mention the 5600 as this is my other one.

My old Casio DW6600. I still remember going into the shop with my mum when I was 15/16 and feeling terrible for wanting it, considering how much it cost. Creeping normalcy has definitely changed my perception of what is expensive when it comes to watches since then!
Anyway, I found it while clearing out a drawer at home earlier this year, with one of the strap arms missing - the bar holder holes were pretty badly scored out too. The rubber of the bezel was badly perished, and cracked in a number of places. I filled the bar holder scratches with super glue which seems to have done the trick, and in a fit of nostalgia, I googled around and found a replacement bezel and strap, so here it is looking as good as new (almost) and back in regular rotation.
Looks good with the new bezel. A real classic.
