Eddie and chaps,
this is getting very very exciting. The soft iron cage is most important. Is there a sum up of other features and dimensions? Three years for the project doesn't seem so much. Waiting eagerly for mid February. Hey, that's next month already!!

But.. but.. is it going to be sterile... right?
Perhaps a possibly touchy question...
AP.
Hi Eddie,
As it is now late February and you and I seem to have birthdays this week, I was wondering if the SB3 prototype had arrived in time to be counted as a present?
Happy Birthday anyway, love the concept of the SB3 and looking forward to having a brother for SB1.
:D
Cheers

That's a very fine watch. I always regreted my Orfina MKII doesn't have a more decent WR and I'm not too keen to the Damasko/Sinn designs or IWC prices. Eddie, if there is a downpayement involved please let me know.

What's the latest ETA on this?

2824-2 chronometer, as in previous specs?
Certainly the first 50 pieces, I've already got the movements. After that?Originally Posted by adrian

Sorry but I've missed the better part of the last 3 years or so on the forum. If there is a waiting list not completed yet I would like to join.
I'm well behind with the projects and what was planned years ago and what I read so far in this part of the forum can be incomplete.
ETA ... as in Estimated Time of Arrival.Originally Posted by adrian

I think that we should start a book on when this will be. You can't be in on it, as you would probably cheat or something.Originally Posted by abraxas

Hey, what happened to that huge bundle of new watch models that Eddie was about to "release"? :?:

Eddie normally posts on the forum once he knows they're in. It's too damned variable to do so before that!

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
I lurve what I've seen of the Speedbird 3! I know there's no waiting list but want to be on one anyway.
I had been looking at Jorg's/Stowa's Fleiger but much prefer what I've seen of Eddie's beauty (the watch that is  ). There are lots of aspects that I prefer but one of them is the ATM rating. It really makes this an excellent choice for holiday/weekend wear on a NATO. The Stowa is 5 ATM which would probably be just fine but the Speedbird specs seem to me to be closer to the spirit of the original specs for this type of watch (milspec over-engineering).
The only thing I will pine for (perhaps) is the royal arrow. But then again I really like the clean and simple face. Maybe an arrow would have spoilt that. [Edit: I guess that's more like the forthcoming PRS-10?]
Really looking forward to having one!

Eddie I noticed on the Speedbird 3 Spec thread that the prototype had the Precista 'P' emblem on the crown. I assume you will still be differentiating the Precista and Speedbird model lines? Therefore have you given any thought to a Speedbird emblem for the crown?

I mean this in the best way because I am a true fan of the man named Platts. Some of his responses remind me of the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld.

Have to just say I have just bought a PRS 3 and its certainly an impressive piece.
Love it thank you very much Eddie.
Been thinking about purchasing the speedbird for a while, but the imminent arrival of the dreadnought is the clincher.
I took delivery of a Speedbird III GMT today, purchased pre-owned from the forum. I absolutely love it, perfect for me for traveling and everyday wear.
