Did it weeks ago and like the improvements
Ok, its about to hit our phones any minute soon, who is upgrading? or are we going to do the usual thing of hang on and see how it pans out?
any issues after upgrade?
do you feel as if the planet has just tipped on it axis after the update? is the world a better place for it?
or have they been blowing smoke up our bottoms again?
I will post back once I have updated my devices.
Did it weeks ago and like the improvements
As I won't be upgrading my phone this year I'll update to IOS 10 so my current 6 feels different, hopefully for the better different.
Got it a few days ago on my 6s, so what has changed is a bit confusing as the 6s can do more than a 6.
As with most Apple updates, you barely notice a change, and my phone is running fine.
I must confess to having spotted a few new icons, which I haven't tried!
The page to the left of the front page is quite Android like, so good to see Apple adopt others ideas and give them an Apple twist.
i like it, it is getting to the interactivty of the windows mobile operating system, which I do like the immediacy of, without the scatter gun and inconsistent approach of android and refreshes IOS enough to keep it looking and so far working the best. (we have all 3 of these phone OS's in our house!)
getting a 7 on Saturday, will see if it works even better as I'm only on a 6 at present and I suspect it is better optimised for the A10 chip.
planning on putting it on the ipad tonight (A9 chip) to see if I can sense any differences.
but then I like smoke
It magically appeared on my 6s, but if I try a software update on my iPad Pro, 9.3.5 appears to be the current version?
i've got the beta version on the phone, I don't think it is out for general release until today, and maybe that's US time so why the pro is saying it is up to date still?
"iOS 10 will be available for everyone to download today, September 13.
Apple usually releases the iOS updates between 09:00 and 10:00 PDT (12:00 and 13:00 ET, 17:00 and 18:00 BST, 02:00 and 03:00 the next morning AEST)"
I normally hold off until a few bugs are ironed out.
I notice that a number of apps today got their iOS 10 update.
ETA 6 - 8 PM tonight
and needs the latest version of itunes, just downloading now.
Just updated without any problem.
As already mentioned not a massive leap forward but like the new notifications area, removing the crappy stock apps and photos is MUCH better - its scanning my albums categorising people at the moment.
I have not downloaded it yet as I do have a concern about what multi-tentacled nefarious intrusive chicanery Apple are installing under the bonnet, strange that I have not had this suspicion about previous upgrades.
wow on first use it is much snappier on iphone 6
Gawd, not another update, was it to plug another zero day? Getting tiresome, at this speed I may consider AnSeiveDroid. Not.

Just upgraded my 6S, looks a bit different but not in a bad way so far
Was up in the early hours this morning with the youngest so downloaded and installed it.
Not too different but a few little changes which I am not offended by. Seems nice and quick anyway.
Def prefer the notifications by a mile!!
iMessage seems a bit strange and very "UnApple" in design with the gimmick side of things - I had to lookup a few things like sending animated backgrounds that I had seen on the web but not obvious in an Apple way without knowing.
Music App is thankfully more direct but not sure about those huge fonts
I am only running a 6 (pre force touch) so guess missing a lot of the new stuff
Note sharing is pretty cool, can see myself and the missus using this a lot for things e.g. shopping lists.
Nice to finally delete stock apps also
Does anybody use Apple maps (over Google) and Siri? (she never understands me so I switch off)
I've been running the beta on my 6s and Air 2 for a couple of months and got the full version early not had any issues it's a worthwhile upgrade with some nice features especially being able to delete the stock apps,
I especially like the new keypad tones, sad I know!
One change I experienced this morning was the alarm: it is MUCH louder than it was. Anybody know how to set the volume?

Annoyingly I have to use Apple Maps regularly as have car play in my car and it only integrates fully with Apple Maps (you only get voice with Google, but on screen maps and voice with Apple). I can't stand it to be honest it's rubbish but I doubt Google will be allowed on car play.
Siri - this works OK for me although again in car play it works poorly.
Not upgraded to 10 yet. Selling my 6s and leaving as is and will be upgrading the mrs' 6s tomorrow before sending out on Saturday but am getting the 7 on Friday so should see it all then.
So far, so good. Like the notification centre, the widgets, deleting the uselss apps (looking at you Stocks and Watch)...plus the dumb fun stuff like the invisible ink messages.
Can control my Hue lights from the lock screen now
Installed it this morning. All good so far on my 6s.
All good on my 6, I like the one touch to unlock update
Updated mine last night and the wife's phone this morning, both seem to running fine although I did read of the first update bricking some devices.

Don't like pressing the home button to unlock, but you can go back to the old way by touching using general---->accessibility----->home button
Hmmm. Notes keeps crashing for me. Ffs
I'm on 10.01 on the beta program, find it much much nicer. It's almost android now

Updated yesterday and now my iPhone doesn't connect to PC.
Spent several hours trying to resolve it and still not working. It seems it's an iTunes issue as its the USB Driver?
B
uninstal and re instal itunes with the latest version if not already using it.
Anyone noticed that having done the update their photos have not only duplicated but triplicated and more.
If anyone can advise why this might be, please help. Thanks.
Notice the same thing on my 6, quite like the new message effects as well but obviously only work when the recipient also has an iPhone with ios10.
New iPhone 7 arrives Saturday so will check out the differences on that befor I give my old 6 to my mum.

I've updated an iPhone 6S and an iPad Mini 4 without issue. My only niggle so far is that on opening 'Photos' I am greeted with folders (People, Places) that I simply don't want and cannot remove/hide. Overall iOS 10 does seem quick and stable though I can't help feeling that many changes are changes for changes sake e.g. the change in sound when you manually lock the phone.
I have to say that I have never used the 'pressure' option i.e. push slightly harder on the screen to see a preview or whatever the result is. I guess this is because the response is different depending on the item on which I press and I am used to using the phone in a different way.
ETA. At this time I cannot get my Windows 10 desktop to see the phone in Windows Explorer/My Computer; iTunes does recognise it and syncs etc.
I think we have to get to the point where a decent proportion of iPhones have 3D Touch (as many people are still on 6 or earlier), as well as us getting used to it. I quite like 3DT, when I remember to use it - it'll become more instinctive, and is genuinely useful IMO.
Overall i I think iOS 10 is a nice incremental improvement over 9 - I think we're past major, revolutionary changes in OS's - it'd be change simply for the sake of it, which often backfires (Windows 8)!
