Power of Love - Jennifer Rush. Reminds me of my dog that passed away when I was 13 and has caused tears ever since when hearing that song (I'm 44 and welling up a bit as I write it).
And I don't know why - but Wings by Birdy makes me teary.
I can't remember if this has come up before (hence my username LOL) but searching in Tapatalk didn't find anything, so here goes.
Is there a song that always brings a tear to your eye ? For me, and for no other reason than I think it's a beautiful song, I can't get through Songbird by Fleetwood Mac without welling up, which is slightly embarrassing as I usually listen to the whole of Rumours on the train to work at least a couple of times a week.
What's your musical nemesis (and why) ?

There's an acoustic version of Twinkle Twinkle little star that I can't make it through.
Prodigy - Firestarter.
Songs of Leonard Cohen - his first album. I was going through an emotional break up with my then girlfriend, so Suzanne and So Long Marianne did not exactly help me through it....
Played at the funeral of a young friend killed in a road accident, was Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.
I cannot make it beyond the piano opening the song, and have to switch it off.
The coffin sat in front of me......
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
... And the letter he wrote to her was quite something too.
'Against stupidity, the gods themselves struggle in vain' - Schiller.
By the time i get to Phoenix- Isaac Hayes (Hot Buttered Soul)
Shoot man, this track gets me every time. For those of you that have never heard it, do yourself a favour and give it a go. The Bar-Kays were a tight band anyways, but on this track James Alexander and Willie Hall are just sublime, and Isaac over the top on keyboard and vocals, amazing, simply amazing!!
Up their as one of my favourite albums and one of my favourite songs. Incredible listening.
Long May You Run, a version sung by Emmylou Harris. Boom, I'm off and sobbing. Odd.
Chance by Big Country is a tester too, reminds me of a relationship I basically ruined.
I'm a huge fan of all sorts of music, I think it is so important too. No surprise that some stuff just gets to us. No surprise at all, I think it triggers something.
Eurovision. Every one of them.
Fas est ab hoste doceri
Luther Vandross, Dance with my Father.
A beautiful song but I can't make it through the whole track and have to switch it off.
"Fields of Gold" by Sting.
So evocative of times that have passed, never to return...
Johnny Cash's take on 'Hurt'. Haunting. And the accompanying video is perfect. Dire Straits 'Brothers in Arms'.
Poisoning Pigeons in the Park - Tom Lehrer
Sweet Marie - Hothouse Flowers.
I don't really like the song, but Elton John's "No sacrifice..." always reminds me of a boy in my brother's year at school who died by falling out of a tree.
Boston, "More than a felling" reminds me of a girl I should've gone out with and maybe be with now...
Remember me as a sunny day - Diana Ross- My mothers favourite.

I'm not much given to crying generally, but there's a track on the Madonna album, Ray of Light, that I really struggle to listen to.
I don't tear up, but I do find it strangely unsettling...
It's Mer Girl.
Depending on my mood, I often skip over it and generally I think this is a great album (And I'm not generally a fan of Madonna at all...) and a good track.
M.
Don't cry at songs but certainly unsettles me Drugs don't work - The Verve
Wires - by Athlete about about a new born kid
'Forever Young' Joan Baez.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.
Friedrich Nietzsche
There are a couple of songs, both of them played at my wife's funeral that I can no longer listen too.
Annie's Song by John Denver & Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrisson, in fact I'm welling up just typing their names
Wish You were Here by Pink Floyd always bringa tear to my eye too but in a good way so I don't mind listening to that, which is a good job as it's one of my favourite albums
Górecki's Symphony No. 3 - especially the version sung by Zofia Kilanowicz. Controversial piece - but a heart-rending listen.
Actually I've been considering starting a thread just like this for weeks now.
Mike Oldfield, Tubular Bells. Superb music and musicianship, and very emotional... I still can't hear the last 30 seconds without getting all teary ;-)
Such genius!
Unfortunately a one album wonder :-(
Another one Al Stewart, Year of the Cat. Don't know why but it gets me every time.
Ruby's Arms - Tom Waits.
Also 4th adagio movement in Mahler's 9th symphony, but for different reasons.. not a song but one of the deepest pieces of orchestral music ever...
Paul Carrick's "The Living Years" cracks me up. And Eva Cassidy's "Somewhere over the Rainbow".
Another song is Jackson Brown's In the Shape is a Heart that always brings back memories of a dear friend.
When I hear this one I always crack up and eventually sob.
F.T.F.A.
One out of left field (literally!) - Tank Park Salute by Billy Bragg
Pearl Jam's "Man of the Hour". Knocked me for six the first time I heard that one after my Dad died.
definately Eva Cassidy's somewhere over the rainbow .... Poor thing died of melanoma aged 33
once to Pink Floyds 'Wish you were here...' - it struck a chord at the time
and Bonny Rait - I can't make you love me - again struck a chord at the time ...
damn need to go cheer myself up now - need to add that Pearl Jam one to the list too

Caravan, Winter Wine from the album In the land of the grey and pink.
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Sonny Rollins and Rufus Harvey 1975. I usually get to the bit about 25-30 seconds in before I inexplicably well up. I think it is more about the beauty of the music than sadness.
Slipknot - Duality, does it every time for me,
I push my fingers into my eyes, It's the only thing that slowly stops the ache, But it's made of all the things I have to take, Jesus, it never ends, it works it's way inside, If the pain goes on I'm not gonna make it....

In serious though, this song and video tops the lot for me in terms of tear jerking.

Your song, any version, gets me every time
I got Hoes by Ludacris, they just don't write them like this anymore. That opening tear jerker, I got Hoes in Different area codes

Hallelujah, Jeff Buckley - my mum was cremated to it. Was her favourite.
Bright Eyes by Art Garfunkel
Everybody Hurts - REM
was playing the day after I lost my last dog; can't listen to it now
&
No Love Dying - Gregory Porter
heard him sing this live just at the time I realised my current marriage was truly f****d; fell apart in the middle of a jazz festival like a right pussy
had no close relatives pass yet so have that chapter to add at some point (will include Luther, Dance With My Father & Maverick Sabre, Mother; both definite additions)
I listened to Leonard Cohen "Suzanne" with a beautiful naked woman silhouetted again a window in European city just as the sun was coming up.
Also "Bird on a Wire' sung by Willy Nelson as it reminds me of the 3 children we lost through miscarriage and the difficult birth of my first daughter.
Apart from those moments its pretty much 100% Rammstein for me music wise.
Not one for tears but when my distant mother died very suddenly last year this song kept playing on the radio and the lyrics seem to be speaking to me from the grave - the only song that brings me to tears every time.

Waiting for that day by George Michael and the drugs don't work by The Verve are 2 that leave me feeling melancholy. I miss my brother who was killed in a RTA in 2014. Gone but never forgotten.
Nothing invokes a memory that brings me to tears but I kind of like An Irish Lullaby by Bing Crosby.
Go on then. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out. The Smiths.
