I am a Billingham or Timberland tan canvas/ leather sort of "boyish man" personally
i have this one
http://www.hugoboss.com/us/'glenk'-l...a50297601.html
Mine started as a man bag but became so heavy I had to take the strap off.
I have one of the earlier versions of these. They are very good indeed.
No picture to hand but I have a Momo Design shoulder bag. Loads of choice, not too pricey. You see loads of them in Italy, Italian men of all ages using them on scooters etc. Plenty on Amazon etc.
I have had many bags over the years and this is my longest serving -
Not very cheap but its a quality product:

I've a tactical man bag for daily use since i don't really carry that much stuff with me.

when I need to look less silly (debatable), decent enough storage capacity being box shaped and can fit a dirty weekends worth of clothes.

Ive got one of these (among numerous others!):

Quality is very good.
I "get" a weekend bag, should you by staying overnight somewhere, but on a daily basis what do you keep in it?
Serious question. Laptop I assume?
Salute to all my grocery shopping (and cooking) brethren!
How about something like this ?
Eastpak have got a good selection in their sale: http://www.eastpak.com/uk-en/sale/fu...ags-c7779.html
I would recommend Filson. Treated myself to the roll top backpack which you can get at a decent price in the UK and about £90 off the London store, but still expensive but will last you. Packs down slim but can take a big load. I filled it up and on the first outing did 5 miles (which I know is not a lot) and wore well. I know you can get more space age bags but this will go on and on plus a good service history if there is a fault.

I think a lot of you mis understand the term 'man bag' as most of you are recommending satchels and laptop bags, a man bag is a small bag you use for your everyday carry, like a phone, wallet, keys, vape etc.
heres the one I use,

yes this is a man bag,
I use my pockets, phone in one wallet and keys in another. I don't need sunglasses daily admittedly.
Maybe I just like to travel light.
I think the Americans call them a fanny pack. For once they got it spot on.
You already have one. It has your testicles in it.

Mine goes everywhere with me. It’s a great daily bag, but I can sneak in a couple of paris of undies/socks and a shirt or two rolled up.
Timbuk2 bags (note the link takes you to the US site, but there's plenty of places in the UK sell them once you've worked out what you might want). Some of the original messenger courier bags I believe.
I've got the large Classic Messenger Bag for my main work bag and couldn't speak more highly of it, it does everything and goes everywhere - it even packed a pair of smart shoes and full changes of clothes when myself and the wife went to Prague for 5 days a few months ago!
manbag? if it doesn't fit in my pockets i'm not taking it with me,...

I got an Eddie Bauer canvas and leather bag in the early 90s. I don't know what they were called then, perhaps `map bag' or 'travel bag'. In any case, I got it for when I got off my bicycle and didn't want stuff in my jersey's back pockets. I still use it almost daily. Funnily enough, it has just enough room for my 10.1" tablet and bluetooth keyboard (laptop stand-in), phone, passport, etc.. I also have an old, bright red, Karrimor messenger bag. We use my father-in-law's WWII canvas man bag (maps? dittiy bag? gas mask?) for clothes pegs.
Best wishes,
Bob
Maxpedition Versipack for the ultimate in "tactical" man bag http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/Versipack-c40.htm
Carry mine every day to work and it fits all the essentials in, including tablet if I need to take it anywhere
I made myself this some years back:
Phone for scale... Holds one's day to day gubbins. Coincidentally it's exactly the right size for 100 12bore cartridges as well so it's doubly useful.
My wife calls it my Indiana Jones bag which is flattering if not particularly accurate. It is jolly nice though and will last for ever and a day.
I have a Saddleback backpack that I use daily for my laptop but here it is packed for a 4 day trip.
Great quality and guaranteed 100 years
They do a range of styles and sizes including
And go as small as a bag for one book

I always go for Paul Smith mini or cycling related prints.
Also a TimBuk2 bag here, a discontinued Transit Mini Messenger http://www.ebags.com/product/timbuk2/transit/141314
it goes out with me if I'm going out for more than an hour or so it contains:
iPad Mini
Glasses
Sunglasses
iPhone
Space bullet pen x2 (blue and black)
Business Cards
Small Umbrella (can go from sunny to torrential rain in 5 mins here)
Equivalent of 20 quid in local notes
2x small packs of tissues (toilets here do not have paper in them and there is always someone in the group who is in need)
Pack of pain killers (nothing worse than having to go 3 hrs listening to one of the kids complaining)
Folded up shopping bag (used at least once a week)
In summer add a 50cc bottle of sun cream (time to burn is 10 mins here)
Pockets contains keys/wallet/penknife

Bellingham Hadley without the padded inner for cameras.
what you really want are Kitanica pants, no need for a man bag with these

I suspect Soundoods issue is one of size/capacity; I believe he takes the stance that a manbag is not a huge affair that holds trainers, laptop, cuddly toy, kitchen sink but something smaller.
Back in the day it may have been referred to as a 'possibles bag' or pouch.
Manbag:
Not a manbag:
So basically if it makes you look like a bellend, it's probably a manbag.
