Utterly pointless unless you're a werewolf.
Are you a werewolf?
Utterly pointless unless you're a werewolf.
Are you a werewolf?
Now, there is double checking an then there is this....
I don't think it's a pointless complication at all. Lovely assembly there.
They look great, and congratulations on having them all up and running at the same time! I see that two of your watches also have the (apparently) far more useful complication of telling you what day it is.
You cannot beat a good moonphase - great watches. It doesn't matter if you use it or not. Only 4 months to go until this beauty hits the streets.

Lovely, it's a complication I really like personally.
That is a fantastic collection of Moon Phase watches, really just superb
Why is the moon phase indicator always in a semi circle ? Why not just a moon sized hole?
Amazing collection. On a purely visual basis, I prefer the Jaeger LeCoultre. I think that's just about perfect. Do you have a favourite? Must be difficult to choose between this lot.
that Lange is stunning
Thanks, I think I prefer that look.
Great collection. Must reboot my 5146 after a weekend away in the wilds!
Lovely group and have to say love this complication myself. Life would be pretty boring if we just want things that we NEED. And, good job lining them up like that👍
Good question.
In terms of sheer perfection, in my mind it's also the JLC, the only steel watch there. I know they did away with the power reserve on the newer model but I think it balances the dial beautifully. It's my second one, I was a fool to let the first one go.
The Lange was a long, long time want and a watch I bought new to commemorate my daughters birth year (she's named for a moon goddess).
The GO is quite simply the finest watch I own. Simple, clear, with incredible workmanship. 9 gold chatons set into German silver, in a heavy platinum case. It's Teutonic brilliance.
The Journe has 'personality' if you can ascribe that trait to an inanimate object. It's interesting from the weird hands to the daft solid gold movement. And it's nice to be part of the FPJ thing - the man is something special.
The Patek; well, it is what it is. It's a 'high complication' model and I never thought I'd own such a thing. It took a lot of work, and a lot of watches were sacrificed for it. It's the flagship of my collection, I can't see it ever being bettered. So it's special for that of nothing else.
So I don't have a favourite. I like them all for different reasons.
The ALS is absolutely beautiful. Unlikely, I could ever afford one :(

Simply gorgeous collection of moon nonsense! I actually pulled out my Panomatic lunar today for an airing and there is something about the moonphase.
That Moser moonphase is definitely unusual.
Fantastic group, made it my screen saver
What a wonderful thread and glorious collection.
Love the lange simple and yet stunning.
Wow that is a stunning collection of MPs Lewis. It's not very often you get to use that phrase!
Love that JLC to it just looks so right and the strap compliments it perfectly. Ok Stupid question time, why did you sell a watch that you then regretted selling, or was it something that you didn't realise until it had gone? Did you realise straight away or it took time for the regret to surface.
Only asking as I've never been in that situation, although in fairness I haven't sold many...
I sold an identical one to buy a PP 5205 in white gold; thought it would be a perfect replacement/upgrade and it was an amazing watch but didn't actually replace the JLC. I missed it.
Was lucky enough for someone to reply to a WTB on here and all sorted.
It's the only watch my wife has ever looked at and said 'that's a beautiful watch'.
A fantastic group of watches, each with their own particular attraction.
I don't think it's a pointless complication and I much prefer the look of a dress watch which has one, beautiful collection by the way.
