Bit slow at work today...
I've had 800+ in the past :-)
Cheers,

Remember if you are testing broadband at home it needs to be a PCs hardwired to the router to get the correct speed, iPad 1.3, pc 2.1, just breaks the promise fibre being installed will be live by Oct 100 in both directions

11Mbps but that was on wifi, will try again with a wired connection
5.4. I don't think that's much good for a London postcode is it? But as I don't download films etc does it matter?
Another tester that might be useful in Thinkbroadbands Broadband Quality monitor. It pings your router once a second & compiles a graph of latency & packet loss which can be useful in diagnosing issues with your connection.
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping
Here's a graph of mine showing some nasty packet loss until I rebooted the router:
The results are stored so you can go back months to see historical data. You don't have to be with Zen to use it.
I'd question it's that useful a tool for the reasons stated already. I work occasionally on video conferencing projects where the upload speed is the defining factor of whether something will work. It also doesn't say much about where it's testing to; if I were using a UK proxy service to give me access to that version of Netflix I might be getting 5mbs to the internet but only a third of that through-putting via the proxy server and that wouldn't necessarily guarantee very satisfactory viewing of a movie.
Interesting link, but it seems to overestimate also no ping or upload values. I normally use http://www.speedtest.net/ and trust it.
50meg! nice...
65. Not bad
1.5mbps , unbelievable ,dial up might be quicker!
50 which is exactly what I pay for from virgin cable don't have a need for anything faster.
I get 48 on my mobile which is quite impressive (EE super fast 4G)
I live in zone 3 London and BT could only offer 6 which is a joke, I upload large photoshop files for work so that's useless to me. This country is so behind with its broadband speeds.
Virgin, just now
200 on Fast ...
211 on Speedtest ...
but ...
there's more to consumer satisfaction than speed

Not one of these test sites give the same results. The VM cabinet is right outside our house, we have the 200meg service and I can get results showings in the range of 205 -208 using my wired pc. However a quick test on the MacBook pro using the OP test site gave a result of 44meg, I then powered up the wired pc and ran the test again and got 45meg, then used your link and got 205 on the pc and unbelievably 216 wirelessly on the MacBook.
Mines 35 Mbps with TalkTalk.... happy with that. 2.5 miles from the exchange.
Since Dorset's application to join the Home Counties has been nodded through since 'Arry Redknapp rolled up, I'll have you know we'm dead sophisticated these days sort-o-thing.
We have wireless BB in our village - varies between 40 & 70Mbs. (Our old copper cable struggled to 1Mbs on a good day)
You wouldn't believe the H&S form filling required for these events.
Not sure how accurate these tests are though as on Fast I'm getting around 18 and on Speedtest 60+
I was paying for 150Mbps but good old Virgin asked if I'd like to upgrade to 200Mbps for free. It would be rude to refuse!
And on Speedtest.net
160 on my wifi laptop.
Interestingly, Speedtest gives me 197 on the laptop...
I'll try the ethernet connected PC later.

Who actually needs speeds in excess of around 100mps. What’s the point?
39 for me although my BT fibre runs out in march. Hope some good deals come up before hand. Got my current deal at £28.99 per month on 12 month contract with £320 cashback
And you probably have a fair one, but for me it's about bandWIDTH - If the kids are both streaming stuff and I'm working at home, it's good to know none of us are going to suffer a poor connection or delays (Especially me!)
My contract is 200mps I think, but I'm only on that because it was a bit cheaper as a package than the previous deal I had - 100mps is probably more than enough currently.
PC on Ethernet reports 220 with Fast, but only 140 with Speedtest!
