That are now 7 years old. Anything more recent?

I can't remember the last time I saw a brown or beige car? - and apparently they make up 4% of cars globally?
I believe that Silver was the most popular for years, but now White is the top seller.

I like darker shades but the seagull crap here on the coast soon burns into the laquer if you don't get it off within a few hours on a hot day. My last two have been white and then silver because of this, metallic white next for me I reckon.
i couldn't decide what to get last summer when ordering my car. I was getting a BMW 640 Gran coupe and wanted something special. My last 3 were black, white and grey and wanted something different.
I went against everything I thought and ordered a red one because my two boys talked me into it. Turned out by far the most striking car I've ever owned and fortunately not too many reds.
I had a mini in that colour. As I recall its name was either russet brown or skid mark. Russet brown sounded faster.

I'd had a succession of metallic greys in recent years and felt it was time to return to red and was really glad I did. Haven't had a red car in over 10 years and I'm really pleased with it and haven't seen another this colour in the past 6 weeks I've had it.

The previous red Golf I had was this one and was exactly the same shade (Tornado red).

Likewise. For years I would look at a car park and it was a sea of silvery-grey. So dull and unimaginative.
White is one I never understood in the past. The Peugeot 405 for instance just looked like it hadn't been finished. But white now does seem to suit more cars. Maybe it's a shape thing?
Anyway I'm a fan of a bright range of colours so I'm happy at the moment!
I'd like white next (well Mes Lewie would)- we too like on the coast and yes the seagull poop really burns the dark cars(my daughters black KA and my dads 308)
We have a silver A4 and it always looks 'clean'
What put me off white were my old memories of rust stains - last 2 I had were in succession - Orion 1.6i ghia and an XR3i
I had a white Rover as my first car and hated it with a passion. I don't like the current trend for white and far too many of the cars around when I looking around to buy secondhand are white now. Metallic / pearlescent white can look good in the sun when clean.
My last few cars have been predominantly silvers, greys and a black with a bright yellow in between 😀
Next car will be red - never had one of those before (although have had a maroon Jeep)
White Range Rovers are enough to put me off it for life...... a more inappropriate colour for an off-road vehicle I cannot imagine. (I know the don't go any more off road than bumping up the occasional kerb)
When I worked on site building motorways, it turned out that White was the easiest colour to keep looking clean .
White cars can get much dirtier than other colours without appearing to be.
Look at Autotrader. Select the car you're interested in, national range, the appropriate age (last three years?), and then look at the colour filter to see what's been most popular.
White VWs for the last four cars, currently a CC R-line repmobile.
I always think silver or grey cars are sitting in primer waiting for a colour to be added...

Colours don't worry me greatly.
I've never had (nor been a fan of) silver as it looks as though you just couldn't be bothered to pick a colour to me, but I MIGHT consider one if it was right in every other way.
Gunmetal grey is OK.
My current car is black (and the first one I've had), which I like, although living in a hard water area, it's a pain when you clean it.
A quick tot up in my head says I've had 3 (well 4, but one is now green) red cars (two of them bought new), 2 blue ones, a white one and a black one.
I'd like the next one to be blue, but I suspect it'll be black or grey.

Must look Green in the flesh because it certainly looks Grey in the pics.........
I have an unhealthy love for the old BL colour 'Damson' as on this stunning GT6 (with lovely Revolutions).
A nice deep red with a hint of purple.
All my cars have been whats available (on body condition rather than colour). I've had two Triumph Dolomites (Sprint and 1850HL) in a lovely bright Pageant Blue

I have just ordered my next car in awhile never had a white one before
So many silver cars on the road and after owning a couple I really wanted a change so went for mineral grey!
Even though it's the same I can't help myself it's my favourite
Can't stand white cars, I've owned a couple but only because I was buying secondhand and that's what was available. White's very much in fashion at the moment, which I still find surprising.
Favourite for me is dark metallic blue for a modern car.

White isn't popular by choice, but by financial consideration.
Most manufacturers now offer very limited choice in standard (free) colours, some of which are just plain awful Other manufacturers only offer white, hence the increased number of new white cars on the road.
Never really had a choice, as i've never had a new car, but for me..
Don't like silver, too bland.
Red, orange, yellow, too garish, though my current Saab 9-3 is a nice merlot red
White, Black and dark blue get dirty too quick.
I like dark grey, looks nice and hides dirt well, liked my grey Civic and Leon
Bizarrely, I'm quite taken by the browns that seem to be coming back, if i end up getting a Skoda superb estate on a lease, i'd prefer it in the magnetic brown, cappuccino beige or jungle green, all browny shades

I'd read that designers historically painted concept cars silver because the colour shows off the lines better. I took it with a pinch of salt until I ran a silver 6 series after a black one. In black the car looked a bit blobby but in silver I could see how clever Bangle's styling really was. It's not an exciting colour though.
Not sure, it wasn't a popular colour until the 50s...
There's also the story that Mercedes stripped the German national white coloured paint off their cars to save weight in a race somewhere, leaving the cars silver (bare metal) which later became the official German racing colour (oddly, mostly notably during the Nazi regime, but one of the few things they hung onto from that period post war - I guess because FISA (or whatever it was in the early post war era) still insisted on national colours still - and to this day on Mercedes F1 cars...)

Those of us who are old enough will remember the days when metallic paint was a rarity. That changed in the late 60s, Ford were the first big manufacturer to start offering a range of metallic if I remember correctly ( I was a bit young!) and I remember plenty of rusty ones being around in the mid-70s. Metallics weren`t popular second-hand because the paint was difficult to touch up.....these were the days when people had to tackle rust/corrosion on cars that were 5-6 years old and it wasn`t unusual to end up doing a bit of paint spraying on the driveway!
Paint finishes on modern cars are far better than in the past. Paint fell off some British Leyland cars in the mid-late 70s; Fords were better but the paint usually had the appearance of orange peel.
