I just love the bezel font on these. The white dial will really 'pop'.
Saw this on an email shot and I just can't stop looking at it...
I love the white face and simple lines.
I feel an itch coming along.....

Just sent chronext an email to see what they can do. :-)
Montredo have it for £1829.
It's a nice watch, although the 24mm lug width is a strange decision.
Must. Not. Scratch.
Iconic have it at £1540

Tried one of these on at an AD... Loved the dial. Managed to negotiate £1600, but ended up passing as decided to flip my Fastrider first. The girl I know at that AD has since left... So doubt I'd get that price again.
I love this watch in pictures, but it is flipping massive. As mentioned before the large lug size tend to hide its' proportions.
If you have the wrist to carry it off, then I think it is a fine piece.
Yes I like the look of this too, the White date wheels look so much nicer on a White Dial don't you think?
OP, you want help in getting over it?
a) does it really have a 24mm lug width?
b) look at the orientation of the bezel numbers! That would only make sense of the bezel were fixed. If it rotates, then I'm boggled by that decision.
Does that help?
£1540..... hmmm..... my resolve is weakening :-)
24mm lug though is big.
I thought the grantour was 42mm which I thought wasn't all that large but why fit such a large lug width?
Same lug width on the Fastrider... Didn't seem overly big on my wrist (just under 7”).
I don't think the 24mm lug makes the watch wear large, but I do think it is out of proportion on a 42mm x 11mm case.
I've thought about these myself but the 24mm lug combined with a not-terribly-tapered bracelet ruled it out. It's all a little blingier than I'd prefer.
I have the black dial version and to be honest don't think it wears too large at all, even on my puny wrists if feels good.
As an aside i've been to 2 jewellers to enquire about getting either the micro perf or larger hole leather strap , neither had them in stock, couldn't give me a price and promised me a call with the info, neither have.

Just been looking at a Tudor black bay and noticed Grantour it is very nice in the metal
This I like. I've been wanting a white dial for a while. And as said above, the bezel font is pretty cool.
If I'm honest I was also looking at the Ocean 2 from Steinhart
but I think this possibly pushing the 'bling' boundaries a little too far. However they have a redesign due out April so it might be worth hanging out to see what that's like.
Hmm, tis a tad blingy. Would certainly save you some money tho, obviously to spend on other watches tho!
Sorry to raise this old nugget but I need some help choosing.
I've narrowed it down to the standard day/date model...
or on leather
Interestingly Iconic have the bracelet version at over a hundred quid CHEAPER than the leather option!
My other choice is the chono on a bracelet again...
Okay I don't need another chrono (and it's eight hundred quid more) but I kinda like the extra bling it adds.
Decisions, decisions :-(
The date window would rule out the chronograph for me. You will get spanked heavily if you try to buy the bracelet as an afterthought so best to get that up front.
Word for word, what he just said.
The £100 you save buying the bracelet version can go towards the leather strap if you want both.
Okay... decision is made ;-)
i do like the Grantour especially in white dial, had the previous model in white, just didnt like the bulky shoulders, but that has been addressed in this version.
The date on the chrono is something i like contrary to other opion.
Absolute no brainer, get the bracelet and commission a nice leather strap with the saving as suggested. Pics when it lands as it looks fine to me but they are large lugs...
Or sell the bracelet if its really not your thing and make a big saving
Im in two minds about this. The length of the lugs bothers me.
I've had mine since december and they really haven't bothered me, to the extent that i've completely overlooked it . Like i've posted before, i've tiny wrists and it looks fine, better than fine actually, it looks lovely.
As already posted, get the bracelet and then if you fancy the leather strap you can change and flog the bracelet if needs be.
For what it's worth... I had both the bracelet & the OEM curved end leather strap on my Tudor Fastrider which has the same lug width/case width. I felt that in real life, the bracelet did a very good job of masking the lug width. The leather strap seemed to draw more attention to the lug width (probably due to the black leather creating a contrast).
Andy.
I've sent a request to a chrono24 seller... even with chronos charges it's £200 cheaper.
Okay.... just ordered a 'fly-back' instead.... Got an offer I couldn't refuse.
Looks great!
Watch now on order :-)
The image with the leather strap seems to infer the ends at the spring bars are curved.
Is that correct?
Can anyone please advise where can you source straps that have curved ends like this?
Non of the usual suspects seems to have anything.
Rather like bracelets, the juxtaposition of the spring bar holes within the lugs will be critical and different for each watch, so I imagine the answer is Tudor. Or perhaps bespoke but you'll probably have to give them the existing strap to emulate.
Looks great - Congrats on the purchase!!
I got the SMP back in the 90's.... it's 36mm across the back and 40mm across the middle (crown). It's certainly smaller than the current ilk.
