Sadly my old boss had one of those and he was a tool. So I can only think of it as a 'tool watch' ongoing and not in a nice way.
Shame really as I think I'd like it if I could disassociate it with him!

I've got a Vancouver 2010 Olympics limited edition with the white face and red bezel. Hasn't been on my wrist for a long time. I might just give it a run out. I was debating moving it on along with my Bell & Ross to fund a Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39, but it might just be collectable in a few years time.

Had one as my first expensive watch back in 97 or there abouts bond watch of the era
2531.80 was my first expensive auto too. I do still miss it at times, and I'm sure if I get wealthy enough I'd buy one again just for the memories! Fantastic watch.
I have that same problem with Tissot. My old boss had a steel & gold chrono (not sure what model) which was a nice-ish watch (if you like the stainless/gold) mix but he completely tainted it for me.
He didn't, however, own an Omega Seamaster and i'm glad because it's one of my favourite pieces. The OP's example looks particularly great!
Nice to see it still being loved. I let it go and kept the 2254.40, which still is my favourite non-chrono. I also have a 42mm PO which feels like a lump in comparison to the sleek profile of the SMP. In my experience the SMP is the easiest 'diver' to wear under a shirt cuff and probably the best all-rounder out there.
A friend of mine has a quartz one.
It's a nice watch, which I'd happily wear, but I must admit I've never really aspired to owning one.

I've tried to like these but just don't feel anything for them.
It's either the shade of blue on the bezel, the shape of the bezel or the wavy pattern on the dial. Or all three.
ha ha nope, £20 or something like that from eBay + a deployment

The wavy dial is a lovely feature albeit I prefer a black dial. The bezel font is much nicer on the Bond than the sword-hand model though.
As for bezel shape, a mixed bag. I do like the look, goes well with the lug design, but the classic Submariner style will always be easier to turn. Gets easier after a few years though.
Here's mine.
I love it but I've just bought a Submariner so it will be neglected for a while. Time will tell how they will balance out.
I've not had them together yet but on paper they're very similar, 12.5mm for the 114060 and 13mm for the 2534.50. In fact my impression would have been the other way round. I would have said the Rolex was ever so slightly thicker than the Omega. The Omega seems to hug the wrist while the Rolex sits on it.
I'll take some side by side pics later if I get the chance.
Here are two pics I got before my phone battery dies. I may have some others but they didn't sync and now it's on charge.
In the first one the Rolex is obviously closer to the camera so looks bigger but also everything is a bit squarer/edged on it. The Omega is rounded off on the bezel, lugs and bracelet.
Both beautiful watch in their own way, Thanks for sharing Mate. The way I look at it, the GMT Seamaster is slightly thicker base on the photo.
My first was a 2531, after a 2220.80, then a 2254 in between a few times. Got a smpc which I didn't like it the moment it got home. Off it went. All of these smps just wouldn't stay due to their Low of flat profile, or the over reflective waves of the blue variants. However having loved the overall watch I finally settled with this, the great white which is probably destined to be a keeper. For those days when once is old and probably needs a light and simple watch, this is it.

The 2531 was my first proper watch. Great time piece.
No argument from me, I love them and have had many different variants over the years, but the two that have survived the longest are these -
My very first expensive watch - bought in 2000 after coming back from earning the medal it is pictured with
and this one - the best looking SMP in my opinion -
Love the Great White on that orange strap!
What make is that orange strap on the White GMT please?
This thread is doing my head in... I've been through loads of different SMP's and got rid of my last one before Christmas (blue ceramic one). Thought I'd moved on but find myself looking again. Always wanted the GMT (great white or black dial) and never owned one yet and the blue 2255/2265 are catching my eye again now. Might have to change my plans yet again!!
