So I find myself coming back to Panerai as I have never owned one and really like the look of them.
I really like the 372 style, sandwich dial, 1950's case and the creamy plots/numbers. Are there any other models of PAM out there like this? I don't want too much info on the dial, no date, seconds etc, but want a creamy dial and plexi.
Is 47mm too big for a 7 1/4 wrist? I currently wear a deepsea and could also handle a Ploprof.
Are these comfortable on the leather straps and buckles? I can imagine a deployment strap and bracelet would be more comfortable than a buckle but I have never tried one to be honest.
That is stunning Alex!!
I was watching a film called selfless last night with Ryan Reynolds, and he wore a Luminor Marina. Apart from it having a digital alarm!!! the sandwich dial looked lovely.

However I think that one was a 44mm hence my asking if 47mm would be too big.
are they comfortable though? Its a big old buckle.
Extremely comfortable.
The straps on mine are 26/26 with long excess leather, which for me is what the watches are all about but its very easy to get thinner OEM straps. The 372 looks great on an OEM Assolutement 26/22 with smaller buckle, it wears a lot sleeker although I would say there was any difference in comfort.
I recently bought this. Love it. My wrist is the same size as yours and it fits/feels absolutely fine for me. They are comfortable as has been said above.
Currently saving for one myself. Tried it on a few times & my wrists are just over 6.5", just about fits. Some people may think to big, but TBH I don't care no more. Very comfortable as well.
Good luck with finding one. Plexi seems to be the ideal combo, reading the sapphire models will be next year.
In the realms of Panerai, the plexi is way more 'authentic'. The 372 is the only faux lume Panerai that works for me. I personally prefer the regular luminor case in 44mm, but the 1950 esque case works better in the 47mm.
I loved mine but would have much preferred a solid case back. The wide sapphire on the back irritated my flat wrist after a couple of hours.
Just when I get the PAM ideas out my system, I see a few wristshots and they're back!
One of the best Panerai for 3 decades, great great watch
All great watches I'm this thread and the straps. I'd love any of them.
What else is out there from Panerai with Faux lume dials and plexi? So many models I don't know where to start.
Plenty of (too many) faux lumed dials around though not so much plexi, rumours abound that the 372 goes to sapphire 'soon'.

Not a lot really apart from the ones already mentioned. Plexi is fairly rare still. The 249 has plexi as does the 294, 448 and 449 all Radiomir though and no faux Patina.
The 424, 425 are domed sapphire but with faux patina.
There is the 557, which is a 372 with the CG on the other side.... Destro and some of the WG and P SE's.

ok guys, update on this.
Something arrived this morning. Its not a 372, but it is along the same lines.....
Oo very nice.
The domed crystal looks spot on.
Its essentially a 372 with seconds, power reserve but no plexiglass. A little different to your initial remit, but a great watch at a great price. I have considered a 422 for a while (same watch as this but minus the power reserve indicator), and if I found one at the price you got this for, I'd buy it.
I was very tempted to buy this. Class. Enjoy.
Miss my old 372!!! Great watch if you can pull it off
Thats one thing Im also thinking about in respect to the 422. Is it the increased sweating between the flat wrist and the saphire caseback or something else?
I had to solve this with my iwc aquatimer vintage collection, by wearing it on a nato and thus separating the glass from the hand
Most Pans are too big for my wrist :( .
