Very generous x 2
Something that many mock, or abuse with their SC sales, fanatical ranting, thread starring and general stirring.
Just received this PM from a member (who I will name later if he doesn't mind!):
Hi Lewis,
Hope you're well and are enjoying the Christmas break.
A bit out of the blue this one but I usually keep on top of my record keeping when it comes to watch deals and I have just been updating them for things over the past few months and I've found that I sold you the xxx for what I thought I paid for it, which was £1,600. I actually paid £1,500 mate, so I owe you £100. I've never been into trying to make money from watches so let me know payment details and I'll get it sent over.
All the best
I thought that was one of the nicest personal gestures I have experienced on here. The ton is going to the Fundraiser of course.
Merry Christmas one and all.
Damn decent!.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Some really great people on here. Good example.
A great gesture from a top bloke.
Merry Christmas.
Name &...what's the opposite of shame?
We'll played both of you.
Well played by both of you! It's reassuring to hear such generosity in this watch community.
Where's SM73 for some BS about polishing halos in public?
Nice gesture.
Bet it really cost £1600 and he is just trying to look good! Only kidding, a true gent and worthy of being named and famed, well done sir!
Very nice to hear! Very generous.
Great post especially at this time of year!
Real heart warmer to read this ... and even better knowing the fundraiser wins as well....
Proper.
Now that's the way to do it. What a splendid thing to do.
If I knew how to insert a 'thumbs up' smilie, I would!
Applause!
What a lovely gesture and indeed what TZ should be all about although alas you don't hear this as much as you use to these days.
Many thanks for posting
Having seen a fair bit of ranting on the forum, mostly sales, as of late it is nice to hear something positive. It's good to be reminded that TZ is a great family to be part of.
"Name and fame", I like that!
Lovely to hear about.
A very generous gesture from both the original seller and from the OP.
Happy Xmas to you both.
Definitely one of a Kind... Hats off to both of You OP and the Seller...
Merry Christmas everyone.
That is really fabulous and
Well done both of you
I hope you can name the person who is responsible for this awesome gesture
My apologies if use of the word 'gesture' bothers anyone😄
It was probably £1400 and he's splitting the difference..
Nice gesture.
Great gesture melds the forum into a place of trust, which is important when you think of the items we cherish and sometimes trade.
Steve
Name him/her and he/she goes on 'ze list' of members to do deals with :)
It's like buying one of those holidays where you get a refund if the price drops before you go.
More posts like this please, and less whining and arguing!
This has just cheered me up, excellent way to conduct yourselves. It feels pretty awesome to help a good cause where possible and so you both deserve a pat on the back...
Fabulous! Well done all round.
Haha I'm not Muslim Dave
Hopefully it goes a little way to redeeming my thread about wiping bottoms
In all seriousness though, I do love this place and have benefited from wearing some great watches over the last couple of years for great prices, and good karma should always be passed around
Merry Christmas folks, hope santa brings you everything you've asked him for
Very kind on both counts!
See, there are some very decent people around and this just goes to prove so!
:-)
Nice one by both! More of this and less of the bickering would be brill!
Excellent gesture!
Thanks Lewis by the way for suggesting the funds go into the fundraiser. It was unexpected and I would have thought no less of you if you'd just sent me your bank details
Gentlemen of honesty and integrity.
Both of you.
Great stuff, don't hear that very often. Well done.
Wow, thats not something I could see myself doing, so well done that man.
And you should name them, so that they can be praised further (if they so wish to be named, if not, more kudos)
Goes a long way to show there are still some decent humans out there. :) Well done that man.

After I'd paid joaocpneves for an Omega but not seen it, he pm'd me to say he'd noticed the AR coating wasn't perfect and he was refunding some of my money.
If he'd said nothing, I'd still have been a very happy bunny, because, when it arrived, the watch was in beautiful condition. However, his meticulous honesty made it even better.
