Grenson's seem to fit me really well so I've got a few pairs. Fred, Archie and a G Concept.

Great deal on these Tricker's brogues in burgundy with commando soles from Herring. Have always wanted some Tricker's and they do not disappoint.
Cheaney have a half decent sale on now. Decent reductions, but on limited stock.
If anyone sees any decent discounts on Crockett & Jones boots then please let me know! I fancy trying a pair of Islays, but can't stomach the full RRP!
Fully expect Sweeneys to have meaningful discounts in the sale. I picked up some of their Albeburghs in blue just before Xmas and they're ok.
Sadly I also went to John Lobb, which was eye-watering.
I am yet to confess to the Mrs.
Does anyone have a sofa?
They're awesome, will have to take a look!

I had that dream once!!!!If anyone sees any decent discounts on Crockett & Jones boots then please let me know! I fancy trying a pair of Islays, but can't stomach the full RRP!
When I was in the 92 Jermyn Street shop a few weeks ago collecting some Skye 3's to go with my Conistons there was a woman in there trying to get a discount and they wouldn't budge an inch because they say they can sell all the boots they can get. They did tell her though to try Harrods of Selfidges as they were giving 10% plus some extra discount but to check the boots as some being sold were seconds.

If you're quick you might find bargains in the Mr Porter sale - things tend to sell out quickly though as the reductions are quite sizeable 30/50% is the norm.
Brands include Churchs, Grenson, Officine Creative, O'Keefe, and a whole bunch of others.
^^^^ That is not a brogue is it?
Sorry haven't found a cure for my pedantry.........yet :-)
I had looked at the Skye 3's before I bought the Conistons but as they only came with a leather sole I decieded against it even though for £60 they would have changed them for the Dainite ones. When they put the rubber some on as standard it was an easy choice to make as the colour is really nice which is a bonus. The only Cheanneys I have are shoes so can't tell what their boots are like but the leather in the C&J ones feels far sturdier.
After constant rain in Wensleydale for what seems like weeks, today the sun is out, the rain has stopped and the only thing going on my feet are a pair of Altberg McKinley Microlites.

They look far more red in colour than I expected! I thought they would be more of a brown.
Hope you've not been flooded up there.

They're chestnut and I use a mixture of cognac and mahogany polishes on them.
The conistons are a mid brown so these make a change.
Floods wise were ok, handy living 800ft up on a hillside. Some of the rivers are horrendous though and there's more rain coming.
Brogues were made with wet feet in mind, so flooded or not you'll be fine ;-)
Just a side question, but any particular shoe cream you recommend to treat the leather on your brogues? Just run out of the last tube I had from Russell & Bromley.
Has to keep the original colour if the leather and not darken it in any way.
They are but when your walking 8 miles over a grouse moor Town Brogues only last a couple of months before they are destined for a bin, I learnt that mistake a long time ago. If I have to I've some from Hoggs of Fife for that job.Brogues were made with wet feet in mind, so flooded or not you'll be fine ;-)
I have no experience but they look nice and they are on sale.

A pair of Fred Triple Welts for £124.... That's hard to believe.
A pair of standard Freds at that price maybe (i bought a pair of standard Freds myself for £112 from Grensons last year in their sale), but Triple Welts, they never have triple welts in a their sales ..............

Got my new pair of Loake Winchester boots on. Thanks to a headsup here they only cost £63 instead of £210. I've sprayed them with suede protector and will now wear them around the office for a few days to break them in. I know they will fit well as I already have a pair of shoes made with the same last. I am really getting into shoes/boots with Dainite soles.
I've found 10% off C&J and Church's here - www.morsepoint.co.uk. I have no affiliation or experience with the seller - they don't have my size!
If anyone can find Islays in size 11 with a price tag £3xx they will get a virtual kiss!
It's just occurred to me that I've never posted on this thread. These were bought in the officer's shop in Blackdown Barracks in 1986 and are still going strong - although they only really come out in the snow given that they've been hobnailed.
I had the hobnails added when I got a job as a recruit training officer. Ammo boots may well suit the drill regimen of the Brigade of Guards but they also serve a useful purpose for training staff - any miscreants can hear you a mile off and can cease their nefarious activities before you get there. Less paperwork that way .
For anybody with ridiculously small feet

I'm wearing some Loake 1880 Chester brogues, in tan. They come in a wide fitting and are exceptionally comfortable.
My 'cheap' C&J boots are on the way - woo hoo!
Or these if you have size 11 feet - in tan too.

My Double Monk Barkers have started to die, so I went out in Ealing today for a look to see if I could replace them.
However, I came home with a pair of these instead (as featured by our own forum's style guru) :

Just £39 in the clearance section at TK Maxx!
Sadly, made in India and not their Italian factory, but Goodyear triple welt stitched at that price - I can't really go wrong.
When they wear out I'll send them back to Sweeney and get them resoled in their UK facility.
Cherry on top was that even the girlfriend liked them :-)
I picked these up in a closing down sale in the Metro Centre in Newcastle
