Not a fan.
Too saccharine, too mawkish and too….American for me.
Well it would appear that christmas is not too far away with the release of John Lewis Christmas 2015 TV advert.

Love Auroras' voice on this, but I'm sure it will divide the Oasis fans.
Not a fan.
Too saccharine, too mawkish and too….American for me.
In that case, the PR/media department of John Lewis have got it spot on, in capturing the modern christmas.
"Not a fan.

Lets not forget cutesy, cornball, cloying..............and Colonial

Whether you love them or loath them John Lewis ads are some of the best in the country. The fact that they're being talked about on an Internet watch forum is proof of that.
It's another good ad, but eclipsed by the 'little dancer' one from earlier in the year.
Merry Christmas Mr Gallagher many large cheques will be coming through the post shortly.
Horrible, terrible, cheesy... made me cringe a bit.
And scientifically inaccurate too ;-p
I'm not a fan of Christmas or of John Lewis, so I guess I'll be listening to the radio more over the next six weeks.

Lasted 30 seconds. Despise the rehashed quirky song by a girl singer that adverts seem to regularly do.
Her voice and rendition of the song stopped me watching the rest of it.
Yes I'm an oasis fan but I'd have done the same if it was anything else. Awful. And I also usually like John Lewis adverts but that choice of song doesn't work.
he was sent to the moon for a reason, probably a Paedophile, and to be fair he looks a lot like Jimmy Saville in his later years, looking at little girls through a telescope ehh ehh?
How,z about that then.....uncanny if you ask me.....
There's a reason he's been put on the moon, it's probably not a good one, if she was my daughter I'd be worried there was an old man looking at her through a telescope and crying...
"A man of little significance"
Half a World Away belongs to The Royle Family .
Ralphy: "So whether you like it or not, it’s very effective advertising."
Only if it gets people shopping at John Lewis and, honestly, that ad is so annoying it would put me off!
An Oasis song would put me off anything...
Yeah but they'll sell a load of telescopes, sadly not much use other than seeing the end of the road closer up.
Apparently it cost 7 million quid to make... Really, how? Did they actually build the house on the moon?
Bag of bollix, IMO.
Sod this high-brow nonsense: just give me Santa, flashy trees and Cliff "Allleged" Richard.
Not s patch in last year
Trying too hard
What a crock of shine. Thanks God I'm not going to watch or listen to it since Father Christmas granted my wish and two of his little helpers from an obscure East European country took away my teevee to the local landfill
Liked the advert but as with all their ads, doesn't make me want to shop at JL any more than usual.
You have to admit it's a great ad campaign when people are watching and talking about your advert (mostly positively) even before it has been shown on TV!
I think it's a good message. The advert has been made in conjunction with Age UK to highlight the isolation and loneliness of many elderly people particularly during Christmas.
As above it doesn't really make me want to shop any more or less at John Lewis though...

Bring back Monty!
I wonder how many telescopes they will sell....
I really liked it. The Bear and the Hare was my favourite but this one is pretty good as well.
Good lord what a bunch of miserable grinches on here. Lighten up you lot!
Pile of crap !! You can't breath on the moon and balloons couldn't get there through space !!!
What a load of crap!
Initially I wondered why Doc Brown from BTTF was featured! Dull song, predictable 'storyline'..
Fail!
It will, perhaps not you but then you’re probably not the type they’re ‘reaching out’ too. ;-)Only if it gets people shopping at John Lewis and, honestly, that ad is so annoying it would put me off!

Ignorance breeds Fear. Fear breeds Hatred. Hatred breeds Ignorance. Break the chain.
Bear in mind that they spend a fortune seeding it before it goes anywhere near a TV. So these are not organically accrued views; they have been bought.
This version is better -
Nicely made, but sentimental B-S. People are generally far too up their own backsides to bother about others, especially the elderly and the needy.
I agree generally people are. However the advert made me think of my Nan who lives in a self contained old folks home. My Grandad passed away some years ago and she's been on her own since...
I haven't seen or spoken to her in about 2 months so I called her and arranged to go and visit. We've now put a date in our calendar to call and visit her once a month at least. More on an Ad-Hoc basis if possible...
It's rather shameful that a John Lewis advertisement had to spur us into action...But hey....At least we're doing something about it now...
I should note she's not lonely or isolated as such. She gets regular visits from my Mum and Uncles...There's always someone around...
It’s not aimed at us (predominately male) it’s aimed at their target market (predominately female) who do bother about others: higher relationship, nurturing and empathy skills.
They certainly do not want us to forget them, hence the objective of the advert: brand (JLP) awareness.
