I would go for the 116334 myself, just a little bit more about it. Having said that, the cyclops would put me off.......
Looking at a blue dialed datejust, which would you go for
the cleaner 116300
or the more traditional 116334
I would go for the 116334 myself, just a little bit more about it. Having said that, the cyclops would put me off.......
The fluted bezel makes it look slimmer, it's far, far too thick.
The original DJ for me (which doesn't help you!)
I was keen on a fattened Datejust, I'd hold off for the inevitable 40 mm update with the 3235 movement.
I find the 40 mm Day-Date to be better-drawn than its 41 mm Day-Date II predecessor, though it's still a bit ungainly due to its bulk. I'd expect the DJ II replacement to have improved proportions as well.
Assuming you're still keen on the DJ II (which is by no means a bad watch), I suppose you might as well go all-in and get the classic fluted bezel. The wide, featureless expanse of the plain one draws unnecessary attention the non-functional extra case width.
Of the two I prefer the 116334. But I'm sure you're gravitating to one more than the other, go for that one. ;)
For me the 116334 is the nicer looking. But of course that only my opinion. Go with the one you see yourself wearing the most.. Easier said than done I know!
The latter it is a much nicer watch and there and has a nice weight to it, it wears very comfortably. However the proportions are not perfect or at least in my mind.
thanks all, leaning towards the fluted bezel now having originally fancied the flat one,
the 36mm is just too small for me unfortunately, and im not waiting a year for the new one
One of my favourite pieces right now. I would go smooth on the platinum and fluted on any other.
Fluted for me as well. Just wish it was a tad smaller
I like mine, but to be honest it is the least worn watch, that it has most if its stickers still intact, that mm makes difference. However I find the DDII with an extra MM perfect. I am going to take a look at a new 40mm and see how that fairs. Currently wearing my mlilgauss white still and not come of my writs since purchased.
The fluted bezel looks great, but is it really worth the extra cost?
Look what i just bought: just plain 36mm
The DJ2 is an awesome watch. It was just a bit too awesome for me, by about 2mm, which others have already mentioned.
My wrist size is 7.25" and it sat right, looked just a bit too showy in the end for what I was looking for.
That being said if those are the choices you're offering, I'll stick to the pros and be as positive as possible- 116334. The wideness of bezel of the 116300 just doesn't look right yet the fluted looks fantastic. If you don't mind the attention you'll get it's definitely worth the extra.
maybe this makes more sense....
^
Absolutely!
That's a great way to get that blue dial you're after.
Imho of the 2 x DJII the fluted bezel is much better than the plain.
It was also be my preference over the Milgauss
I love the smooth bezel, and will no doubt at a nice black dial version at some stage.
It's just a matter of time...
Smooth bezel 116300 definitely; the fluted bezel looks a bit old fashioned. BUT - I would live in morbid fear and terror for ever thinking about scratches. The smooth DJ is the scratch magnet of the century.
The flat bezel one looks fat and clumsy, the fluted bezel looks elegant and classy.
Fluted bezel is very showy I think, smooth is abit more subtle.
I am also torn between various dj 2 iterations at the mo. I really like the Roman numeral blue dial, but don't like the fact it comes with no lume on the hands or dial.
The one you've chosen above just has too much lume/white sticks on it for a smart watch for me.
If they made that light blue dial with the black/grey dial hands and one bit of lume at 9oclock I would be smitten....and would go smooth bezel
When do they release the new 40mm version? I wonder if they'll change the dials as well.
