Ha, I tried a tuning box on it, and it was a nice feeling ha, bags of grip.
Tried a GT, same engine as the 159, seemed a bit quicker, even if the book says there's little in it.

For load carrying capacity a Grand C-Max 2l auto Titanium. Love the autobox, much better at power delivery and fuel consumption than the old torque converters.
I'm really surprised you say roads are bad here ralphy, I moved from South East 3 years ago and there and especially Brighton roads were particularly appalling and I find roads here absolutely fine, and we run bumpy old classics as well...
sure there's mud on them but they aren't that bad..there's less ice and snow here so they don't break up to the same extent...just back from Powderham Castle as it happens this weekend from a big vehicle show ..
Picked up our new car on Saturday, A5 sportback in daytona grey with the black sports pack, unfortunately its just the 2.0 150bhp diesel version but alas thats life nowadays :d
I'm having a series of 'Senior moments' Just reposted the pictures having totally forgotten I'd already done it, to say nothing of posting pictures of my dog first!
Anyway, we found a dodgy Ballast resistor that seemed to be the main problem, however moving the coil around obviously tipped it over the edge and that expired instead! I'm loving classic motoring!
Change cars almost as often as I buy a new watch. Driving a Range Rover lately which is just a fabulous car, good for everything except car parks.
Considering a change from my 98 CLK to an S4 'vert. Anyone own one, any advice?
Some real beaut's being posted
I sold my A5 BE last week as I'm going to finally get a company car. Sadly, I didn't realise the wait list for the one I want is a minimum 6 months! So bought this to tie me over, 2008 Mini Cooper
Just wanted something to have a bit of fun driving for a bit. Have ordered this as a company car. Golf GTE - Electric hybrid GTI. Whilst not a true GTI it's as close as I'll get for the ridiculously low running costs. I always regret not getting a Mk1 I went for in 1989. Will be the same as below. Now to wait till Jan!
Will miss the nice sporty cars I've had over the years though and the F-type jag I wanted next is on hold for a long time!
Hm. These ;p
Polishing is strangely therapeutic.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Drive this at work.
Harleyrider, I'm riding around in this, wishing I was a Fireman!
Thanks Moe!
Idc0001 I will check that out when the kids have stopped screaming!
I have just sold this...
and replaced it with this...
Tried to be sensible the last year or so.
First attempt at sensible I was too sensible (Toyota iQ), which was recently replaced by this with lots 'packs' as Mini like to call them...
What do you drive - or not...
Family transporter... Volvo V70. That broke down in Italy.
A few weeks back, we drove from Switzerland to Figline Valdarno (Tuscany). The outside temp was pretty high when we left Luzern. The Gotthard Tunnel showed 38C on the outside temp indicator on the dash. When we hit Italy, the temp went up and stayed on 39C most of the time, until we hit the mountain road between Bologna and Tuscany: outside temp went up to 42C. The engine temp + airco perfomed without any problem. It was the automatic g'box that went belly up...
After a short stop, the info on the dash showed a warning about 'lowered g'box functionality'... And it showed. When my wife pulled away, the g'box wouldn't shift up - only when hitting the rev limiter the it shifted up with an almighty bang! We didn't have to choice than to keep on driving to the camping site: you don't want to be stranded on the hard shoulder of an Italian Autostrada with 42C! Shifting down was even harder, very 'jerky'. Ultimately, the box broke down in front of the reception building of the camping site! Whatever we did: the car wouldn't move under own power!
It's a company car (my wife's), so I called the Dutch helpdesk and explained the problem: they sent a flatbed truck to pick up the car. The car was taken to a Volvo dealer 50kms away in Arrezo. Volvo dealers are thin on the ground in Italy... Two days later they called that the car was ready again. Reset the software etc. The car performed faultlessly during the whole holiday. Up until a very fast trip through Germany on the way back. After a stop at a Service Station, the car wouldn't move in reverse! Restarting helped. We got home without delay. The car is off to the dealer on Monday.
October 1st, my wife will leave the company and restart her own business again, so she has to hand in the keys of the Volvo. The search for a family-sized BMW has begun. (I've seen a nice 525D Xdrive for sale at a dealer...)
Finally back together @ Silverstone Classic, after a year in bits being rebuilt...
One of those stories of, "lets refresh the engine to make sure it lasts another 25 years", which became "engine's out.. why not give it a few tweaks"
That's what I like to see, an auto box. Civilised. Nice car.
