I have been wearing my 40 for the last few weeks, and I've got to admit it has become my favourite watch, nothing else is getting a look in at the moment. This being my first quartz I initially thought I wouldn't gel with the watch, but it's just a perfect pick up and go.Still can't get past the colours on the dial, this and Eddie's new green Nato just superb, hankering now for a Seafire.
I agree, it sort of looks too bland. I think an olive green one would be good and I liked mine on a black NATO.
Mine arrived today, the new Timefactors NATO strap is excellent but seeing Giovanni's pics inspired me to try it on leather.
have to say I really liked, very different to anything else I own (there's a few more kicking about than shown here :) )... which is good as the mrs usually says 'you have one like that don't you?' Think a green Nato might be in order.
Nice watch, if there would be screw-in crown I would buy it.
It uses the same case design like vdb
If this is a quartz, it could stay screwed-in and you only use it twice a year. I can see that this crown is in a place where you can accidently snag it and pull it what can damage it or let leak in water. Screwed-in for quartz is perfect, no need for reset time, when you have many watches.
And I have :)
I love the design even more up close than in the photos, it's comfortable to wear and looks great on the wrist.
I have to say though I would like it a lot more if the second hand hit the markers on the way round. On a watch costing less than £200 though it's reasonable that it doesn't so I have no complaint, and apart from that niggle it feels like a very well made watch. Will see if a watchmaker can sort it out and if not, will have the second hand removed - after which it will still be worth whatever I end up having paid, for sure.
Proper tool...
Funnily enough, I thought with this being my first quartz it would have bothered me, but I've come to accept it.
A keeper for me.
Perhaps I should retract that.
I have a few quartz watches with second hands, and I've had a look through some of them this morning - an Omega '007' Seamaster and a Tag, but also three Seikos, a Wenger, two Casios, a Swatch and two Pulsars, Of these only one - one of the Casios, bought for about £25 as a holiday watch - fails to hit the markers spot on. I will accept that the Swatch (£32 from Liverpool St Station on an impulse) is probably a lucky coincidence.
None save the Omega or the Tag would have cost £200 new, and some of them much less. It is something, I must conclude, that you should expect a manufacturer to get right for a watch costing more than £50 or so.
Did you ever read this? http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...kers-on-quartz
There are many reasons why the seconds hand doesn't always hit the markers and few, if any at all, are within the control of the person who actually puts the watch together.

Me too, nothing else getting a look in since mine arrived, just so comfortable and can't get past its simplicity.
6 pages on the subject! We are a funny lot... Doesn't bother me at all, it's such a minor thing in relation to the overall watch.
I've done a little personal thoughts review of the 40 here, if anyone's debating getting one - do it is my recommendation and I wasn't initially convinced on first seeing it!

I must have looked at this thread a hundred times and there's just something alluring about this watch. I had no interest whatsoever for ages but now I'd love to try one.
Anybody put one of these on leather Nato or Zulu strap yet ?
Mine arrived today and very happy with it.Initiallybit sceptical but works really well, comfortable on wrist and looks great.
Will post some pics in due course
The photo showing a 50p over the dial worries me does the watch face seem small when on wrist
nice nice.
Fantastic
This watch is growing on me more and more.
I've had mine for a year next week. Can't say enough good things about it.
I have borrowed Dave+63 photo (hope that is OK) and added an inner ring... I always thought it might add a nice twist to the dial and tie up the markers. I'd love to try one of these on to see how the fit and feel comes across on my wrist.
nice idea but it spoils it.
Still looks great but one of the things I like about it most is the large black area on the dial. The circle makes that area smaller.
What I would like to see is maybe a change to the double dots at 12 o'clock. Maybe a triangle instead, or sonething else just to see how it would look.
Mmm, I have to say all these pictures are tempting me....
But will it look right on my 8" wrists?
After sitting on the fence ever since this one was released, I finally decided to order one. Ordered yesterday, delivered today (thanks for the great service as usual Eddie).
In the last couple of hours I've tried it on three straps, the original grey NATO which you've all seen, a Timefactors black/grey Deluxe NATO and a blue Zuludiver from WatchGecko. I must admit I'm rather liking the blue with this watch, but I do like a bit of blue on watches anyway.
It's still Marmite for me I love Marmite but don't like the PRS-40 ah well the joys of being different!
For some reason the previous photos of mine that were in this thread have had their links to Pb corrupted. :-( So I’m putting them up again.

Got mine last week, my first TF watch. I've been admiring the design for a long time, and finally gave in to giving myself an early Xmas present.
One bonus I've noticed with this case is the loose end of a NATO tucks nicely back into the watch, I've never liked folding the loose bit back into the keeper.
^^^ Probably the hairiest wrist I've seen.

Only probably? You mean you may have seen hairier?
It's the Wolf Man
hmmm....
it's actually my watch model Priscilla Platypus
