Luc Besson's Lucy was quite good. Not sure he had it heart in it but it was watchable.
I recently watched "Road" on Bluray, it's immense! It's a documentary covering the amazing story of the Northern Irish Dunlop familly of Bike Road racers. Even if you're not into Bike racing (I'm more into cars), if you liked Senna, Rush or 1 Life on the Limit then this is a must watch.

Just watched 'The secret life of Walter Mitty'.
Really enjoyed it. Great feel good movie with some fabulous scenic locations.
Watched My Cousin Vinny again last night.
Remembered what an excellent comedy it was and enjoyed it all over again.

Just watched 'grudge match' with de Niro and stallone . Great comedy with some really great lines. Recommended. Some knowing nods to the Rocky films too.

Although I haven't seen the film (yet) , the book was fabulous.
Anyway, I've just watched The Judge, Robert Downey Jnr s latest vehicle. Really enjoyed it. Him and Robert Duvall are excellent . Great supporting cast and a half decent plot.
Special mention to Billy Bob Thornton too , who does a great turn as the prosecuting lawyer.
Snap....missus decided we were watching it and I didn't have high hopes. Actually thought it was really good. Thumbs up
I think Rabbit Proof Fence was the last Australian movie I've watch, great little movie.

It's well worth watching, the story is quite incredible and even though the end is very uplifting there won't be a dry eye in the house at the end.
If people are looking for decent Australian films, try The Dish. Excellent.

watched peirce Brosnan lastest effort last night November man above average thriller, also Bill Murray and Melissa mccarthy in st vincents well worth a watch.

Just finished watching Before I go to Sleep" starring Nichol Kidman, brilliant thriller.
Watched "The Guest" last night, it was ok, slow to start, then towards the end it all kicked off.
A strange one was Miss Meadows.

As we are off to HP World the weekend after next , then we are currently doing the movies. Currently up to the Order of The Phoenix and it's really good fun.
The 100 year old man who fell out of the window is brilliant . Watched it Friday night . Some cracking observations, roles etc. it is a Swedish film so you'll get some belting stuff there.
Caught up with one I missed a while back 'Buried' with Ryan Reynolds, surprisingly tense and wouldn't recommend for anyone claustrophobic but for a low budget (very low budget I believe) thought was pretty damn good

Just watched this with my 13 year old son - he thought it was fantastic, I couldn't engage with it at all - apparently a very clever and thought-provoking film, I thought it was contrived and shot through with plot holes. The best bit was sharing a big bag of Minstrels!
Just seen FURY
pretty brutal with some stunning combat scenes, pretty sobering thought what those WW2 Tank guys went through where a tiger could engage and kill at 1800m where as a sherman had to get to 2-300m,full of petrol and ammunition.
Last night we watched a film called Sleep Furiously; a documentary by a fairly obscure film-maker called Gideon Koppel. Nothing much happens other than the closure of the village school, a fete and the birth of a few animals. The principal characters are sheepdogs, as stuffed owl and the chap who drives the mobile library around the countryside. I absolutely loved it and it gave a flavour of being made in the early 70s despite having been filmed in 2006 and released in 2007; it immediately made me want to move to rural Wales. Really mesmeric.

"The Imitation Game" was a fantastic film, and "The Drop" was pretty good too, although not in the same league.
I've seen a few "not quite sure if they're great or terrible" recently.
Escape From Tomorrow - definitely surreal (enhanced by the stealth shooting style) and imaginative , but not sure it really works
They Came Together - great cast, but rom-com's are pretty much beyond parody IMO
Welcome To New York - I'm sure the corruption, arrogance and decadence of politicians needs to be explored, but I'm not really sure Abel Ferrara is really the best guy for the job.
Extraterrestrial (Spanish 2011) - again a great idea, but seems to fall flat IMO
On the other hand, I really enjoyed Two Days, One Night - the sort of movie that the French/Belgians do best. Not much really happens, superb frazzled performance by Marion Cotillard, no schmaltzy ending. Very good.
Eliza Graves, fairly good movie, felt like a TZ g2g.
Saw The Imitation Game last night, which was utterly brilliant, funny, shocking and moving.
Not sure why some critics are a bit sniffy about it, it's great.
Also saw Interstellar, which was mindblowing and definitely a great cinema spectacle which has to be seen. Whether it's a great film is moot, but it's certainly breathtaking to watch. It's also got some tedious scientists all bent out of shape, which is all very funny.
+1 for The Immitation Game went with the GF who happens to like Benedict Cucumberpatch and I have to say the acting was on another level and possibly Oscar material however the biggest surprise for me was Keira Knightly who as well as being the eye candy was very good indeed.
Highly recommended a very moving and enjoyable couple of hours.

On the western front a film called Dead Man by Jim Jarmusch, good but slightly odd. Music by Neil Young and great actors, Johnny Depp, Iggy Pop, Billy Bob Thornton, John Hurt, Gabriel Byrne, Robert Mitchum to name but a few. Well worth a watch. Cheers
