^^^Great Benrus, congrats!
One of my Eddie's favourites for me:
So… this is a watch I have wanted for a long time – a Benrus MIL-W-3818B from 1966.
I sourced it in the States and it just so happened SWMBO was going over to NYC and I was able to get it sent to the hotel, avoiding any nasty little extra financial bills. Also the seller refunded me shipping as it wasn't international any more, even though I told him there was no need to! Bonus all around. Came on a lovely pig skin leather strap, but its to thick really as the watch is lovely and slim. I will try it out on a nato, which it will probably end up on full time.
It is a total stunner, all in a really good shape – case is nice and sharp. Dial is crisp and the lume is ageing evenly and to a lovely colour. It also has a fantastic texture to it as well – I love the texture you get with the ageing process.
I decided on tracking down a Benrus, as it has the better movement and much more sophisticated dial and hand set in my opinion to other manufactures of a similar design. Also Tom's (pacifichrono) example always, ALWAYS had me salivating.
So quickly, as I know this is a Friday thread… the reason I wanted one so badly is I have wanted an adult sized watch to replicate my first ever watch, a little Sekonda given to me by my Grandad around about 1980. He use to teach me how to tell time on this one, no doubt with Weekend World with Walden on the TV in the background. It has seen a good life, and so happy I still have it…
And a quick comparision of the two together. I think the Benrus fills the role perfectly.

Not my usual travel companion...
But it's just back from 6 months at LVMH, so getting plenty of wrist time at the mo.

Got this last Friday and it hasn't been off my arm since.
Stuck in Lagos traffic on the way to work but this Heuer puts a smile on my face...

My O&W Cougar today. Until this week I've not worn it for at least a year if not a lot longer. It won't be that long ever again. She just fits "right"
HAGWE!
This special one!
