A new one this week… well I say new but in fact fifty odd years old. I turned 40 last Saturday and I was not able to make my mind up what watch to mark the occasion.
My other half had kept mentioning an Omega Arrow Head Pie Pan Constellation as she knew I had lusted after them for quite a few years and felt it was appropriate for a 40th. I had to agree that it seemed a good idea as it was a watch I could also grow into over the years! I'd worried I wouldn't find an example in time, but as luck would happen I came across one in Cheltenham while visiting my father-in-law. I tried it on and loved it - but wasn't 100%. I then tried a rose gold version on in Burlington Arcade (as you can imagine the price was STEEP!) but it made me feel more confident about what I'd seen before… so off west we went again. Another quick try and I was convinced. It had a recent Omega service, was on a new Omega strap with signed gold buckle. Also it has a signed crystal (which you should be able to make out on the photo).
    Just perfect.

I know a lot on here would only wear this as a dress watch, but I'll put it on for any occasion (well not washing the car etc etc of course) but I had it on with a bright short sleeve shirt last night, out at a show and I'd wear it with jeans or shorts – looks great with anything to my mind…

Also this is my first watch which has this much gold – sign of my age?!!!!! Well, have to say I'm smitten.

Also… makes me look forward to Eddie's Armstrong Siddeley even more. I think that one might look fantastic on a NATO – I do like the look of dressing down a dress watch on nylon. I wonder if Eddie could so a special edition NATO like the Seafare has???

Thank you - perhaps a bit non-WIS, being a Dunhill (although they have included watches in their product line-up since 1925, I believe) - but it is beautifully put together, with a well thought out design and I find myself wearing it more and more, particularly as I deal with New York and Bangalore on a daily basis. Added to which the bracelet is a gem, with a totally hidden clasp.

Couple of older, clearer pictures below (it's c.38.5mm without crowns and lume is blue by the way):

I reckon the Bund is pound-for-pound the single best buy in vintage watches right now. Nice catch.

I quite agree with you. It's spectacular, both aesthetic and engine-wise (unfortunately a bit too big for my slimming wrists, that's why I sold mine).

Nice. Is this the 'protect' version with the hardened case and bracelet? If so, how has it faired as a daily wearer?

Its a rather rare Seamaster Megaquartz from circa 1972. This was one of Omega's most expensive watches when new, at nearly four times the price of the Speedmaster Pro.

This is a quick and dirty, the watch is sitting on a 24mm leather (trimmed) so you can see the size of the watch.

This is how the watch was original sold - with it's bracelet. The bracelet is an absolute beast and i felt that the leather would work better, which i think it does.

It's a one-off, a 'blonde hornlug' made by Nejad from Homage Forum, details here: http://www.homageforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=20688
If you don't have access to HF, here's an extract:
    • Nejad hornlug midcase plated in 18k super white gold
    • Attaya tall bezel, solid CB, ring and 7mm crown, all blasted and chemically aged
    • - thick plexi 'Gruppe 3646' dial lumed and painted from from the back
    • - Attaya chemically aged, skeleton, tall tube hands
    • - Sternkreuz Typ M 392 crystal
    • - A6497 movement

I bought it on here. I saw it for sale but missed it. I kept thinking about it so dropped a speculative PM to the buyer. He liked it but wasn't wearing it. I beamed him some cash, he posted me the watch
