As close as its been to diving
Mucking around changing straps I stumbled across this Steinhart head / SKX011J rubber combo and I kinda love it...
Go well people.
Johnny.

Starting with this one
But later on, I'll switch to this:

Put my Seamaster 'Hummer' on a different strap yesterday (a bit tight, perhaps in the photo - oh, and I need to set the date, I see! )
Watch out for Bertha!

Hard to resist my 1680 at the moment.
Trying Monza with red rally strap.
Old 12.68N Longines (not bad for a 69 year old) with a somewhat Marine Nationale style..
Have a good one!

Thanks! Yes I did. I was inspired by a photo I'd seen on another forum and I have a bezel removal tool for swapping bezels on my 1680 so I took a brave pill and got to work!
I certainly wouldn't guarantee water resistance but it is easy enough to reverse and I'm loving the look at the moment.
Happy to provide further details by PM if you'd like.
All the best,
Paul
Haha! In hindsight, you're probably right Rob!
However, I have managed to amass two (or is it three?!!) spare OEM bezels and I was going to get the original swapped over anyway so figured I would just take it in to a watchmaker if the mod didn't work out...
To be honest, I was probably more scared the first time I removed the bezel on my 1680!
Hope everything is good with you mate.
All the best,
Paul

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
So this truly is a current favourite… had it on for over a month now. But have told myself that I need to have a change this weekend plus I need to get the box out to pick out a vintage omega for a wedding celebration on Saturday, so as good a reason as any. Might go for the PRS-82 for a bit of a comparison. I'll mull it over!
