^^ both stunning watches. That 6105 looks particularly clean for its 40 years. Must have been LOST for a good few years somewhere...
I currently have two. A 40 year old and a brand new one. Still, the 8110 is my only vintage and not sure I'll keep it. The MM on the other hand is the watch that will never go.

That 6105 looks perfect... Is it original or restored?
Thanks, guys. It's original, the only thing I had done was a relume and a mild brushing up of the case. Dial, hands, crown (which still locks), bezel+insert are all as it was in 1974. I bought the watch with the original unworn waffle strap....someone paid me good money for it...but should have kept it.
The thing is with this watch, even though I love this watch, I'm scared to wear it. It's almost too nice to wear.
My Seiko 7002 on all solid link aftermarket Jubilee Bracelet!
Having started with SNK 5s and graduated to SKX 007s and OMs I'm now looking at consolidating to a smaller number of quality affordables from Seiko's mid-tier - I was up to about 15 inexpensive Seikos, but since I have only two wrists* I am trying to make sure I am collecting to wear, not collecting to collect!
New arrivals moving in this direction:
*only one of which carries a watch at any given time!
That's the one. I love the dial and it's the watch that made me want to move up a tier in terms of finish/movement etc. I only wish the hooded lugs didn't mean it needs a bracelet since I prefer straps, but am willing to overlook my preference in this case!
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
You are absolutely right Charlie.Where the hell do you start when it comes to Seiko.I thought the same as you but if you take a bit of time and follow threads like this one and look at the its Friday thread you will get to see what others are wearing. Then you can start to pick up some pointers.Cant tell you where it will end but I now have 16 Seikos in the collection. This one came yesterday.I sold one here on SC recently and I regretted it.
Those are so much watch for the Money. I love the Samurai too.
Oops I did it again ;). One more Seiko I couldn't resist.
I'm liking it in terms of comfort. The bracelet itself is well made, but the clasp is not the best I've come across (it's a bit flimsy with quite a lot of lateral movement, so doesn't always align properly when closing)
Ah, yes; however I do wear watches fairly loose and I find that the SKX crown guard digs into my wrist. It means I have to wear them on a NATO, or reverse the case so that the crown is at 10.
The guards on the Monster are nice and flat
arrived yesterday from deepest darkest engerlandshire. a cruddy old 7458 given the Tiger UK treatment
I see. I do seem to recall that one one of the 007s I modded, I applied a Dremel to the inside edges of the crown guard while I had the case empty (I also completely brushed the case while I was at it) and that it seemed a little more comfortable afterwards - I also wear my watches slightly on the loose side.
Wore this one at work today.
Excellent, thanks guys!
Currently on my wrist!
Yesterday:
Now I hear you thinking: Jean Lassale, that isn't a Seiko!
The movement in this watch is a Seiko 7A34 with 7A38 datewheel.
The movement is gold plated and "pimped", Lassale was the luxury brand Seiko tried for some years, ranging from 750 dollars to 25.000 dollars...
I knew they had a Lassale brand, but I have never seen a Jean Lassale. Interesting! (funky bracelet on that one too)
Very special and comfortable bracelet.
It has more parts than the engine of a Rolls Royce:
Jean Lassale was (now defunct!) a firm specialized in ultrathin movements.
Seiko seems to have bought the name and to have started using their own movements.

Here's some more information about them, from NeilC:

Ooops, the Jean Lassales ranged up to $ 45.000, even a bit more than I remembered...
What a fantastic thread ...
