Hello chaps does anyone know if there is an after market oyster bracelet out there for the Seiko skx013?

I have looked everywhere with no joy.

Don't think so. I've searched high and low for one and asked on various forums. It's just not as popular as the 007/009 varieties so no one seems to bother producing an aftermarket bracelet.
Some will suggest a straight end bracelet but I don't like to see em on this watch

Maybe someone has a bracelet off of a SBCM023 that they aren't using. That will probably fit.

Would be nice if W Jean who makes the super oyster for the 007 made one for the 013.

That was just an example of what he has supplied in the past to illustrate that they do exist. He has no items listed on eBay at the moment - perhaps when he returns from leave next week it might be worth messaging him?

I just found this. It's not clear though if it's 20mm lug width.

I think I must've tried every possible avenue for a 20mm solid link oyster, that uses fat spring bars. I got nowhere, other than a box full of 20mm bracelets and end links. I eventually gave up and bought the Seiko jubilee.

I just got another jubilee, thanks to Velorum, which I brushed the polished centre links on and it does look better than the polished one.

I now have a couple of SKX031/33s, so the bracelet hunt begins again. 22mm ends but thin spring bars and different end links to the SKX007. Though that last link has something that looks right.

Just looking at that site again and I'm certain they are WJean's bracelets.

Jim, let me know if you do find an Oyster for the 013 please mate. If not I may buy a jubilee myself although I much prefer the oyster.

I gave up looking, couldn't find anything.

The only option is if you can still get the bracelet for an SBCM023 as has been said. It uses solid, but one piece links. I'm sure I tried mine and it fitted, but my SBCM023 deserves it more.

Looks to me as though it comes in both 20mm and 22mm

£41 - nearer to £50-£55 once shipping and import duty is taken into account

I emailed Harold yesterday - no response as yet, which is unusual as he usually emails back quickly.

Perhaps he has gone on holiday with WJean?

Do let us know how you get on, can a jubilee be found anywhere for the 013? At least then I will have a bracelet option.

Will post some pics when it arrives

I have the feeling that it might be a little too shiny for my taste - however if I like the feel of it then this is fairly easily remedied

Heh, my wife wears the 013 and the SCBM023 is mine. I decided to give her the bracelet, as she likes it much more than the other options.

At one point there was a WJEAN oyster available in 20mm, I've had one of those also. It was more or less 100% same as the SCBM023 original bracelet.

I now have a spare Seiko jubilee (thanks Ian) and much prefer the one I've brushed. If you want it, just make a £10 donation to the fundraiser.

I was asked for a photo of my brushed jubilee, so here it is next to the std one. Apologies for the usual poor photo.

Having looked through a number of old posts on various forums I think that WJean is the best bet re an Oyster or SO. There are a number of references to how he had modded 22mm solid end links to fit 20mm lugs for a small additional charge. Some of these posts are quite old now but I would think that he still does this.

Of the various link styles I find the Oyster the most pleasing.

I have just had a message from w Jean he has told me he fits this bracelet to his skx013.

    http://m.ebay.com/itm?itemId=310912416123

Do you know if this will fit straight on to the watch or will it need filing before it fits?

Is anyone else getting one of these?

It does fit, however there were 2 issues that prevented me using it.

The end links didn't fit properly. I'd rather have folded end links, than solid ones that don't fit well.
It doesn't use fat spring bars and although it supposedly comes with ones with 'correct' ends to fit the lugs, I found they weren't as tight a fit as the correct Seiko fat bars.

Yes, I am a pedantic, perfectionist old ....

This rules it out for me

Now that I have refitted a brushed Jubilee I have concluded that this is fine. And I know that the spring bar holes wont wear prematurely either........

The BOR that I ordered from Harold arrived the other day. I had bought this mainly for SWMBO as she liked the look of it in the photo and has taken to wearing the 013 on occasion. However when she saw it she thought it too big and heavy (bl**dy women!) so I thought that I would sell it on and promptly put it on SC. However, I ruminated on the matter for a few hours and decided to withdraw it and tone it down by giving it a brushed finish. Well, after refinishing and sizing I have to say that I'm quite taken by it. Its easy enough to swap between this and the Jubilee for when SWMBO wants to wear it. Hollow end links - but the good news is that it takes the original 'fat' spring bars. The wider non tapering nature of the bracelet seems to hold the rather tall 013 in position on the wrist better than the Jubilee (which isnt too bad if Im honest)

Nice work and photos, amazing what difference de-blinging a bracelet can make to a watch.

    Cool

I really like that bracelet, especially now it's deblinged.
It gives the watch a totally different look.
    Enjoy it ;-)

    Thanks Barry

The deblinging took less than 10 minutes with some 3M fine 'wire wool' - the green non metallic kind so no nasty mess

It only takes 30 seconds or so to swap between this and the Jubilee
