It looks like you push it down and then it snaps in - similar to the IWC deployant clasp.

Hmm yeah but that doesn't seem very secure. Wouldn't it pop open if caught or under vigorous errr shaking ;)

I don't "shake" while wearing my watch, so it shouldn't be a problem for me. It's either going to be hard to open when you want, or easy to open when you don't. I don't intend to buy one out of the first few batches.

Okay guys, I'll be posting links to WUS, a report on Munich Time 2013 from Mike Stuffler, and a vid on Damasko form Page and Cooper.

I think until someone has hold of the bracelet and seen at first hand how the clasp operates/or is secure, all we're doing is speculating. To put it into context I have a Kemmner watch with a similar clasp and to now it's worked flawlessly. With all due respects to Kemmner, I'd say Damasko will have a higher build quality but again, until we have it in the flesh we can't possibly say it will/won't be a secure clasp.

Has anyone compared the new Damasko bracelet with the Prometheus Manta Ray bracelet? I suspect there's only a superficial similarity except for the Torx-head link screws which look like a very similar concept.

I actually like that bracelet better due to the floating inner link on the end link. It would wear more comfortably than the protruding inner link Damasko used.

That promotheus bracelet looks a lot like the Damasko one.
Let's hope the Damasko version is really made in-house, and not on the same spot as the Promotheus one..............

I'm presuming that the bracelet has solid end links? The pictures aren't clear...

What do you think the chances are that D and P share the same bracelet?
Either Damasko saw/got hold of Prometheus' and used it as their reference, or it's not quite as in-house as everyone is presuming.
Maybe the in-house bit is the assembly of the individual links into a bracelet, or the clasp?

But ultimately, does it really matter if it's a good bracelet?

I'd be more inclined to believe that they both use the simplest/easiest construction method possible. If a machine shop were going to program a CNC machine to make links for a bracelet, I think 9 times out of 10 they'd come up with the Damasko design.

I can assure the bracelet is 100% designed and built in house......

I was there when they were beginning to create the first pieces.

You realise that this thread is going to be the source of a "Damasko bracelets are manufactured in China" rumour now, don't you, ;-)

    No, no, just some banter.

I really do believe that this bracelet is designed and made in-house.

I've always liked Damako, and certainly like their in-house movements. (seagull based aren't they?)......................

There we go, an early prototype. You can clearly see from the grade of copper used that it's of Chinese origin.

They've not yet been released, early 2014.

As soon as they are I'll do a video.

My first 363 & 373 should be here in the next few days.

When the Damasko bracelet arrives, does that officially mark the first day of spring? Spring 2015, perhaps?

    It's arrived.

Page and Cooper (@pageandcooper on Twitter / Instagram) posted photos last night.

I like the look of the "hidden" clasp.

Will it fit all 20mm lug models?

  46. #96
So I asked for a price for a bracelet for my DC67 and this was the reply.

    Dear Mr Tims

    Thank you for your e-mail!

Great to hear that you are happy with all our watches
You have to send the watch back to us, because we have to make an individual strap for the watch.
In the last years we often changed our cases, that we have to produce a new one for your watch.
The price for it is 630,00 € + 60,00 € for adjustment. Additional you receive a special tool for the strap.

The shipping costs to your address are 70,00 €.

I look forward to hearing from you!

    Best regards

    Isabella Damasko

I wrote back to express my dissatisfaction as a repeat customer and long term advocate of the brand and suggested they won't sell many at that pricing to owners of "old" watches. I did enquire about the price for a bracelet to a new watch.

That's just plain bonkers....I was considering getting a used Damasko then sourcing a bracelet but won't consider that now! I too would be interested to see how much a watch w/bracelet retails for...

  48. #98
You would think that - even if they did change the case designs slightly from time to time - they would still know what type of lugs you have from the serial number of your watch.

  49. #99
So I'm assuming that means through Page and Cooper adding a bracelet would mean an additional (approx) £550 + vat on top of the price for the watches on strap... I'll drop them an email to check.

I am seriously thinking about trying a DA37 or 57 and would like a bracelet but I may just stick with a strap at that price.

Damasko was never a customer focused enterprise was it?
