Look, I am sorry, I am a Neanderthal.....I'd love to have a go at that....thing...app.....what is it and where does it 'go'...phone...laptop er? In plain, English (preferably with subtitles) Help!
I've been infiltrating a fee threads about cotta in models with pictures from one of my favourite apps which times your watch using the atomic clock and a record of what time your watch was showing x hours ago.
I thought rather than carry on putting them everywhere, I'd create a thread where we could share such pics. Sad I know, but hey. Im an anorak. I conduct a brass band FFS!
Anyway, here's my late a ones.
How are yours doing?
The app in using is called Twixt.

It's a good app... I like it!
OOH! I like this app Is there an android version available?
There is a similar app for Android.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...b.hurban.watch
I've used it in the past. Works ok, not excellent because of some focusing issues.
But give it a go. It might work on your device.
Parmigiani Kalpagraph
O sec/Day 0.0beat error
Use >>>THIS<<< .
Nothing extra really that this "Twixt" can offer as long as you have a piece of paper and pen and the willingness to scribble for a few seconds each day I normally go further down the road with mine for a more "fair" result, as in at least a week.
Latest I checked was this one (excuse the crappy iphone pic) and it was +14-15 after 1 week. Can't fault that...
I always found that android one flakey and inaccurate. I've had better success with watchcheck - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ler.watchcheck
But hey, they're both free so no reason not to give both a go.
However I too prefer to just check it against http://time.is regularly. That way you know the data you're checking against is accurate.

Just checked my mkii kingston, -1 sec, after 5 days wear (So an average of -0.2spd) Not to shabby i guess... ;)
So this app really works? Found some conflicting reviews. Can you monitor more than one watch at the same time?
The best I could do. It is old.
Best wishes,
Bob
Is there a Windows Phone-suitable App?
I've been checking against the GMT website on my new Fortis - it seems to have gained less than a second in 3 weeks...... :o
Might need to do something a bit more scientific to confirm
- to be fair, I could well believe its "accuracy" (relative accuracy). I have had half a dozen Fortis from new and every one of them ran well within COSC (although they are not sold as COSC)
1969 Speedy .....just back............not bad for a 45 year old
Congrats! Which app is that?
Thanks, screen looked different :-) only see one app review that is pretty old so must have improved with recent updates.
I hadnt even thought there might be an app for this!
Just installed the Android one so I'll see how my Sinn 556 gets on over the next few days.
Very interesting app - think I will try it out too!
Well done gents. Keep em coming!
May need some work this one!
I bet there is no Windows Phone version...
I've booked one of mine in for a service after using this! It's all over the place!
no photos but my omega 8500 has lost 10 seconds since 28 December......
It's from Twixt. Once you have enough measurements/photos, go to the main display, hit "edit" and then click the "i" icon near the specific watch you want to look at. Then hit the home+power button (iOS) to do a screen grab
Much obliged. Thanks.
I'd like to know if these watches are being worn 24/7 or being placed in various positions overnight to enhance timekeeping. I wear mine in rotation and know how much they gain or lose, so when a watch comes out of the box I set it fast or slow so that it's about bang on after 2 weeks and then drifts off again. I always know approx. how much off a watch is and that's good enough for my needs. My most accurate is my 1984 Datejust at less than +1 sec per 24hrs, my least is my DC56 at approx -4secs per 24hrs. My DA37 loses 2secs, Voyager +3secs, PRS5 Broadarrow +1sec (with a daily wind to full), Everest +1.5secs, all per 24hrs and all worn 24/7.

Talk about having a senior blond moment, I downloaded the app took a photo of my GS SBGR051, I planed waiting 24-hours to see the results. However, what did I do last night? I went to the London Time site and reset my watch
Looking on the bright side, I was in the jewellers yesterday and Stephen put my watch on his timing tester, the result was -2s a day, which made me a happy camper.
Not used App, but measured my 2007 Speedy co-axial over the past 43 days at +2.86 secs/day. I think that's pretty damned good!
Bit better now.
Looking forward to getting it serviced. Great watch.
I might get it...but I recon its a great way to become less satisfied with my watches. I will want them all spot on...
