Great collection - thanks for sharing.
2013 has been a tumultuous year for me in terms of watches. I'm still fairly new to the game, so the first half of the year saw quite a few comings and goings.
On the way out last year were:
Timefactors: PRS-29B, PRS-22, PRS-22 GMT
Omega: Seamaster Quartz, Seamaster 60, Chronostop
Heuer: 1000 Quartz Diver, Carrera 150.573, Viceroy, Autavia 73463
Glycine Combat Sub
Kemner Aviator
Vostok 1967 reissue
Seagull 1963 reissue
Most have been moved on to make way for something else, however I managed to get down to a more sensible 12 and am now back up to 20ish (there's a couple of small projects requiring completion).
This, along with the acquisition of some of the current collection, means that I've dealt with some great guys here on TZ-UK
So, this is where I am at the moment - I'm pretty happy with the SOTC and things have calmed down quite a bit.
Heuers:
The gorgeous GMT is one of my firm favourites and the 73663 also sees a lot of wrist time. The Temporada is not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it quite a lot - mainly 'cause it's a bit mad.
Divers:
The PO was what started me off with this whole watch fascination and is my 'go-to' watch for any situation. The '66 5513 came along fairly early on in the journey and is another firm favourite. The two yellow-faced pieces are pretty rare, but both have the same lovely sparkly dial of the Jenny Caribbean heritage.
Divers - Russian and Japanese:
The SKX's are both modified (one more so than the other!) and give me a great deal of pleasure. The Vostoks are just incredible VFM and tend to be reserved for holiday beaters.
Chronographs:
I'm really happy with this foursome - there are some some quite unique pieces in terrific condition. The MKII was purchased as a birth year watch and is what really got me appreciating the '70s styling.
Others:
Including a couple of properly cheap Infantry watches which are purely reserved for in the gym and gardening!
So what will 2014 bring? As of yet, I'm unsure - but I would like to try a JLC and a Blancpain
Happy new year everyone!
Ed
Great collection - thanks for sharing.
That's a superb collection, Ed.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
Very nice collection! I love the manual Autavia.
"A man of little significance"
Thanks chaps
Cheers Tony - the majority that you've listed, you've owned at least once! The manual wind Autavias are rather lovely
Thanks Simon, it is a beauty!
Congratulations on such a wonderful collection. The 73663 and GMT are stunning! Enjoy!
What a lovely collection.
“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
Lovely collection Ed, especially the Heuer GMT for me.
Some very LTF lighting going on there too.
Or maybe I need to take my sunglasses off today....
Loving the Breitling Chronograph. I haven't seen that before.
Great collection - definitely a man after my own taste! The MkII Speedy is beautiful.
Nice to see so many mesh bracelets as well, really makes the vintage divers pop :)
Great collection
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Thanks - they're both firm favourites. The GMT really is NOS condition!
Seems to be the best I can achieve with a very crude set up! I'd be very happy to take photos of Tony's quality.
I'd pretty much ruled Breitling out as a brand until I saw this - it really is the only one I've actually really liked (I can appreciate some of their pieces, but they're just not for me).
As you can see, I'm quite partial to a mesh (also a vintage Tropic)! I do find the exceedingly comfortable too.
Thanks![]()
Excellent collection, I love that GMT.
What a lovely collection!
Love the Jo Siffert edition! Haven't seen that one for a while.
Quite a bunch of very nice watches. Heuermania!
Very, very nice set of watches there, Ed. Love the variety in colour and makes such a difference to the humdrum black and white.
It’s a nice varied likeable bunch. I like the non-Heuer chrono group - all a bit unconventional. And pristine, by the looks of it!
Many thanks! I love the white face/blue accents of the 'Sifferts'. This one is also thinner than the automatic Autavias, so wears very comfortably. I also like the balance of the 3 subdials and as it has no date, gets worn quite a bit (as setting the date isn't a worry!).
I'm quite partial to a Heuer!
Thanks - I do try to avoid too many black faced watches, but my era of choice does seem to be the '70s, so there's bound to be a bit of colour!
They are a really lovely group of watches, which I've been very fortunate to obtain - all a bit different from the norm and a bit rare (the MKII's probably the most common!). The only one that has had work done is the Speedy with a new glass and a case refinish
I really like that red bezelled Seiko - is it a SkX007 underneath?
Very very nice collection.
Lovely collection. Thanks for sharing.
A great collection, again after my own heart, with a number of cracking vintage chronographs.
The manual siffert-a-like is my favourite, as you say a more wearable thin case, great movement and lovely blue accents - must be better than a Daytona from the same era!

It is lovely - I could have gone for a more traditional 'Siffert' (i.e. two subdials, date and automatic - but not with Chronomatic on the dial, of course!) at the time I was choosing this, but I already two other Autavias. One was manual with 2 subs and date, while the other was an automatic with 2 subs and date. This complemented them perfectly, but they've both since moved on.
Great Collection i really like the chronographs![]()
