Looks good, fits nicely.
Up until now, apart from the odd cheap soviet diver I have been more into vintage slimline dress watches - however since becoming more active on here I have developed a desire for something like this
A 7002, newly serviced with Nato strap.
A bit worried at first that it may be too chunky for my small wrist - however, been wearing it since it arrived first thing and dont think it is.
I like it

Ah I do like Seikos......I have 3 at the moment.
Yours is looking good.
I predict, though! That after the first Seiko? It gets a tad addictive! You will find yourself getting another Seiko soon!
vintage Seiko. a slippery slope I'm afraid
This looks great! I love Seiko divers, modern or vintage. Wear it in good health!
After swapping the watch back to its original Seiko rubber band I have to say that I found this rather uncomfortable. However, having recently fitted a silicone / rubber strap to my Amphibia I thought that I would try one on this - it arrived this morning and I have to say I am very pleased with how the Seiko feels with it.

It's one of the nicer dials in their diver range, very underated watch.
I like Seiko , I've only got eight of them at the moment.
I'm going to order a TZ RAF pattern Nato for it as soon as I can
Do they feel as big on the wrist as they look?
mine sais hello,
Looks very nice....I think I will try and acquire!!
Seiko is a great brand that makes some great watches. Congrats on the new watch!
Can't go wrong with these. Wear it in good health!
Look good . You can make the rubber strap soft by putting it in boiled water. Remember to take if of your wrist first
Following some experimentation with leather straps (the subject of other threads) I thought that I would try this Bonetto Cinturini that I picked up from the SC last week to give some rubber another go. Oh, and a big thanks to TaketheCannoli for selling this to me.
I really didnt find boiling the Seiko strap in water (as suggested in previous posts) an appealing prospect in case something went wrong but did experiment with the cheapo rubber/silicone one bought from eBay. It was undoubtedly softer and more pliable afterwards - much more comfortable in fact. However, the texture remained 'clingy' and not to my taste.
The Bonetto is beautifully soft and slightly shiny and I have to say it is the most comfortable strap I have tried on the 7002 to date. Better even than the Toshi and thats no mean feat.
I figure that I will be leaving this on for a while!
Welcome to the Seko club
This is my newest one on Morellato carbon
When I bought my now departed SKX009 it arrived on the Seiko Z22 rubber strap - a truly dreadful thing. Hard, inflexible and incredibly uncomfortable.
I changed it to a Super Oyster which was wonderful. Amazingly someone actually bought the Z22 torture device off me - I'd probably have paid them to take it away...

Stunning watch! I have the 6309-7040 from 1977 and wear it a lot. Looks vintage, really nice watch!
Thank you sir!
After trying it on a Nato, leather and then bracelet I have concluded that it wears best (on my wrist anyway) with this simple strap option
As a matter of interest, during a fit of temporary insanity I actually sold this particular watch recently. However the buyer on receiving it contacted me to say that the crown didnt seem right. I immediately refunded him, he returned it and I am awaiting the delivery of a replacement crown at the moment. Oddly enough the crown seems OK to me. Perhaps it just wanted to come home. Nice to have it back anyway.
In reality this kind of watch is only going to make something like £130 at best so its hardly going to raise sheds loads of cash and as long as I wear it regularly and enjoy having it then there is simply no point in selling it. Whatever I used it to raise funds for would in all probability be flipped quickly anyway........

Any which way these as bloody marvellous and durable and wearable.
Very nice seiko seem to get a good folowing these days
Seiko have a great range of watches, and are excellent 'bang for buck' value.
They do some quirky pieces as well as classic looking stuff.
I'm on a bit of a Seiko Titanium tip also at the moment. Here's a couple that I have landed of late.
and:
I've also recently landed one of these...
The Seiko Nooka...
It's in need of a little TLC and a battery / bracelet clasp extender before I can wear it, quite possibly a 'marmite' watch, fugly to some, but unusual enough for me.

Reading this post, I missed wearing my 007, so this would be my watch for this Sunday afternoon.
Nice watch- here's mine, recently arrived from t'bay, on a cheap chunky SS bracelet and NATO:
My collection also has a Black Monster and Mini Black Monster. Seikos are so very collectable!!
Nice! I received my first Seiko diver on Friday, an SXK009 from 2004. Very impressed with it!
looks great
I am thinking of trying it with a Di-Modell Rally
I love my 009 iv got it on now but its started running fast the last few weeks whos the best to send it to for a service in the uk ? Iv all so had a black monster in the past they are a lot of watch for the money
Re. Seiko divers generally...
Brilliant watches. At one point I had 7 - SKX009, Sawtooth, 7002, 6309 and three Monsters (Black, Orange and Yao Yellow). Loved them all, but sold the lot to fund a couple of heavyweight purchases.
Re. Seiko rubber straps...
If you had a Z22 then I fully understand your disappointment. I had one originally on my SKX009 and absolutely hated it. I thought it was hard and fiendishly uncomfortable. Any strap you have to boil before it's tolerable isn't worth having. Fortunately there are great Super Oyster bracelets available and loads of good after-market silicon straps out there.

My 007 arrived last week and I can't wear it until the Zulu straps I've ordered come. Just can't get on with the rubber straps.
007 is really nice watch for its money. Thou I prefer skx171 dial. So mod skx007 with 171 dial looks bit better imo.
Orange monster is only Seiko I m currently keeping, I was considering SRP227 and such mod as backup ;) but...
Its time for Sumo SBDC003
Gotta love the old 7002. That's where it all began for me.
Very much value for the money, big fan of Seiko diver vintage and new and owned several.Good catch ,go well on NATO,though I'm a bit of a bracelet nut.?..........
