    Finally back from my watchmaker: 1954 Rolex 6580

    Bought it out of New Zealand via Ebay but after receiving it appeared the automatic winding mechanism and some other small parts were missing. After 3 months of searching and spending >EUR 500 on parts from all over the world is this the result: a 1954 Rolex 6580.

    That looks absolutely beautiful. Assuming it's 34mm the size looks great as well.

    No he didn't and stated that he didn't open it (and knew knothing about watches anyway). Bit of a dead end street. When I opened it it went pretty easy so assumed it was opened short before...

    @Higham: the service itself is not that expensive but some parts for Rolex 1030's are about unobtainium.
