Just sitting in the EMIRATES lounge in Frankfurt and on every wall is a Rolex wall clock with the golden corrugated outer ring. Look tacky but must admit ask are running at the same time do maybe they are radio controlled. Any knowledge in the forum on these?
You should not criticize Rolex (or everything related to it) here. And if Rolex is not your cup of tea, you should not mention it. Otherwise you expose yourself to a lot of troubles!
I had to drink a few free beer in the lounge to be brave enough to post....
Will take a picture but uploading will be later.
Indeed, the lost eleventh commandment surely was; Thou shalt not criticise Rolex
I didn't want to be a troll nor did I want to feed any. It's just that the wall clock has no resemblance to a nice Rolex diver but is just flashy plasticy. It's boarding time now..... PS picture taken.
Is it similar to the clocks at Wimbledon and the various golf tournys they sponsor?
Do Grand Seiko make wall clocks?
Love em or hate em, you just can't ignore them.
Wouldn't surprise me if the clock in Dubai is not a Gold Oysterquartz , same as recently posted here in the SC. Without doubt and with no fear of contradiction, the most beautiful watch I have ever seen.
On the subject of airport wallclocks, I snapped this a couple of years ago at Calvi (Corsica) Airport. Didn't see the man on the step ladder winding it though.
Do they pay though, or just give them for free?
This one is in Melbourne, Australia:
Bangkok International Airport:
This one is in the Ginza district in Tokyo:

Looks like that particular mystery is solved now......lol
This ought to be one of the coolest clocks out there:
Made for the Carnegie Hall.
The clocks are ugly because they're oversized representations of something that was designed to measure 34 or 36mm, not the
34 or 36cm that the promotional items are.
In lieu of a suitably kitchen-sized version one of those, SC has a lovely rare quartz Audemars Piguet wall clock.
It's a bit like those £5 ones you buy in Poundstretcher/B&M/etc except it's heavier and costs a lot more than a fiver.
Still, it's an AP for your kitchen wall to wear.....what's not to like?

This week end at carfest. Had I known the going rate on SC I would have made them an offer!
I have a tag F1 style dealer clock.
Originally it was going up in my home cinema but 4 years later I still haven't had time to build the thing so... I decided to put it up for sale.
Lo and behold when I dug it out and stuck a battery in it ...it kept terrible time and seems to have sticking hands.
still have it...one day I'll probably try to fix it...then it will get put in a skip with most of my repairwork.
I do quite like it though.
Landed in Dubai and took pictures of three different versions all nicer than the German one.... but not nearly as nice as some of your pictures of wall clocks resembling wrist watches
