And driven it to work every day - as well as a couple of blasts through some of the great west of Scotland routes.
E320 Cdi with ~240BHP and 450 torques :)
^ Good colour, is it Luxor?
Got put off RRs as my last had a catalogue of issues, will be closely watching how these fare
WoW ! Some serious motors on this thread...I'm just a A to B kind of guy so my car is worth half as much as my (cheap) watch collection , it's a '04 Bora 1.8T which collects dust at an alarming rate down here.
Check out this thread as well
We used to spend Chrismas in Betws-e-Coed, Dalgellau area, I still maintain that those parts arguably have the best B roads for anyone who wants to kill themselves enjoy their motorised carriage and within easy reach from the Big Smoke. With all that foreign nonsense I honestly forgot why we stopped going there.. Oh, it's comming back to me now.. it's must be screaming GF (at that time) and even louder screaming and bounceing in her seat Mrs Night power drives are absolutely incredible in those parts..

I sold my E92 M3 last year and had a diesel civic as a runabout, did 25k miles in it and then my mileage dropped so decided to replace it. I almost went for another E92 M3, but had an itch for a 2 seater. As I'm big BMW fan I went for this. It has the DCT gearbox and is fantastic for a daily driver. This summer has been perfect and I'm really glad I went for it. Off to France next week in it too. Its the 35i M Sport. I couldnt find a decent 35iS for less than £35k at the time.
We have a pretty decent W211 E220 CDI estate in silver with alot of toys. 56 plate, so post refresh. Great mile muncher, so comfy and huge load space.
More interesting is this:
1989 E30 325i cabriolet with the M-tech 2 pack (full leather, M-sport details and Alpina wheels).
Needs a little tlc, but keeps on trucking!
In my opinion, you lot all have one wheel too many. What you really need is one of these:
It's a Russian Ural 650 Tourist. Don't believe anyone who tells you they're unreliable, they just need love and care. OK, so she'll only manage 60mph tops, downhill (and 70 once - then you have to rebuild the engine), but I love her and regularly commute on her. Ask Minkle - I rattle past his front door most days.
And he's still not given me a spin around the block in the spare seat!
Nice cars and great to drive. However, I used to sell these when that car was new and there isn't anything called an 'M-tech 2 pack'. The only E30 that ever wore the 'M' badge officially was the M3. The Alpina wheels could be bought as an aftermarket accessory through Sytner BMW who were the Alpina concessionaire at the time. The leather was a standard option. The 'M' badge on your car will have been added by a previous owner. Officially, BMW dealers were not supposed to sell the badges to anyone that did not own a factory Motorsport division car, though many did. One thing that was standard on the 325i Sport however, was the M-tech suspension. This was (amazingly) a £150 factory option that could be added to any 3 series in the range and it absolutely transformed the way the cars drive.
I drive a pair of these:
2009 model manufactured by Clark's, bought new with after-market orthotic insoles and a fresh coating of Kiwi Carnauba wax in traditional black. Great in the wet or dry, with 'airport friendly' soles for a quick turnaround when driving overseas. I'm looking to upgrade at some point but my AD won't discount the list price for a new model, depsite many years as a loyal customer dating back to my school days.

Before kids came along i had this.
After kids i had to settle for this.
Got a Mark 2 2010 ford Cmax!! 1.8 petrol! It flies!
This is my current car. Carts me and the hound around in comfort. Bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing with over 280bhp and a ridiculous amount of torque. Makes me smile.
This for now... but considering a move in the near future if anyone is interested.

I drive this to work...
...and this when I get there...
Which I suppose makes me just another boeingdriver...
Just got my new demo car:-
Does it need more power?
Depends on what you want really.....
It reminds me of the Mx5, in that keeping momentum is the key/fun because if you get it off the sweet spot, it doesn't have the torque to get you back up there quickly.
The chassis can certainly hack more oomph but I kinda feel that it would defeat the object. It's slower but far better to drive than the equivalent golf gti, scirocco, Astra vxr, focus st etc...... And in std form it has a great standard spec for £24995 (I'd add nav @£750 but otherwise nothing) with cruise, xenons, Bluetooth, fold mirrors, keyless entry etc all std.
I changed jobs a the start of August and switched from a company car to one of my own. I decided to change from a Skoda Octavia to a nearly new (5900 miles) Skoda Superb SE Plus 1.6TDI in Amethyst Purple. It's lower powered than I'm used to but has excellent kit and was a very good price.
