What a beauty. Best of both worlds.
Thanks for pointing it out Chris.

When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
What a beauty. Best of both worlds.
Thanks for pointing it out Chris.

Belting! always preferred the Mk11 myself especially the RS 1800
£5.65 royal mail first class delivery?
There's loads of them up here, almost bought a similar red one last year. Dark winter night projects, I reckon!
Had an RS2000 many years ago, then a mk2 Mexico. Very nice cars in there day.
wow, that is a great looking motor. There are a couple of mexico's I see around my area and im still a bit gutted i never owned an XR2.
Very nice!
Suddenly I don't want at GT86 anymore!
That is one of my all time favourite cars, my dad had a mk1 1.3gl which I loved.
Stunning, always pined after MK1 Mexico, the one in your link, thats something else!
Awesome!
Reminds me of the late 70s when some friends of the family bought their son one in these colours before his 17th birthday. To say he wasn't terribly responsible is an understatement so there were lots of raised eyebrows. A week before his 17th birthday he took it out on his own one frosty winter's night and wrapped it around a tree :(
I thought Wheeler Dealers renovation was pretty good given the money they had to spend. The Mk Is remain the classic for me. I did drive a MkIII 1.6 Ghia auto, which I loved.
My very first car was a Mk1 Mexico. Cheap to buy at the time - I paid £275 for it, then spent 8 weeks welding it on the driveway in the snow, which was childs-play compared to insrig the bugger.
Excellent car, though and I still get a nostalgic shiver whenever I (decreasingly frequently) see one on the road or (more often) on TV or in a magazine
They're making crazy money these days so I pleased I had one when I did, ditto my old Kawasaki Z900 - stupidly expensive.
I'd love one, or a sporty MKII for a laugh.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Ford Fair at silver stone tomorrow, get yourself down there for all the RS Mexico you can handle!
I actually saw a Mark 1 Escort on the road today, first time in ages. It was a bit of a snotter though, somehow I couldn't see it up for sale at 19 large!
Cheers,
Plug
I'm off to a Ford car show tomorrow down my neck of the woods. Should be a few of RS 2000,Mexico's and Cosworth's.
That is pretty much perfect, if I could get away with it I would buy that. Amazing.
I used to get a lift to school sometimes in a Mexico. Love them with a passion since.
Stunning
wow, nice job, had 2 x Mk1 RS2's and a mexico, and mk2 Mex and 2x MK2 RS2's
my last RS2...155bhp on 48dcoe's,Kent cam, Oselli bottom end... mallory dual point ignition, sachs suspension......one of the few cars I've owned where you truly felt you knew where each wheel was and what it was doing

iirc, four new Goodyear rallye specials were £150!
There's a green one where I live with a cops worth engine and running gear
The blue and white one looks nice though in beast colour
That is stunning - perfect mix of retro looks with modern reliability. Lovely car for someone. There a few MK1's and MK2's near why i am but nothing as tidy as that one in the Ebay advert.
Saw a metallic orange Mk1 with bubble arches and black RS2000 stripes buzzing round the M25 this morning. Looked gorgeous, must have been heading to Silverstone as there were RS' galore on the M25 this morning.
That's a cracker.
Retro and great!
Cheers,
Neil.
A classic Ford takes some beating.
Here's a pic of my old 'un, started life as a 1300 and finished as an RS2000 spec car. Great fun and I did a fair amount of track days in it but it was always at the back of my mind that if I damaged it then finding replacement panels would involve ££££££
I remember buying a mk 1 escort in 1994 for 60 quid, I bought it with the sole intention to smash it up grass tracking which I did, in hindsight I maybe should have stuck it in a garage for a few years
Looks good, but the English axle will really be at its limits with this engine.
