The district nurse tried three times today to get blood from me. She failed. Now it's a trip into the surgery so they can stick me again.

Stuck at work upgrading a server and really wishing I had not ate my tea tonight. Omelette and roasted vegatables have rendered the server room uninhabitable and in all probability I've left it in a seriously explosive state. The cooling system also recirculates the air so not only does it stink but its a most unusual cold stink
    Cheers

I ruptured my calf muscle yesterday and am finding the pain, swelling and loss of function somewhat trying. On the upside, the roses in the garden have started flowering (finally). Which is nice.

If you own one of a hundred watches from a boutique dive watch manufacturer, it isn't rare, it's low production because they couldn't sell any more.

They've no problem selling them, it's making them in the first place they they've had trouble with!

I do accept that it's only different because of the dial and bezel but then so are most limited editions.

And if I say it's rare then it's rare! Ok?

I really struggle with the silent b in Russian.

On the plus side I managed to avoid the omelette murderer at breakfast this morning.

I've been helping my nephew build an engine for his (proper, air-cooled) VW Beetle, which he's intending to take drag racing.

I spent this morning with him having it set up on the rolling road owned by 1970's Rallycross legend Tom Airey. Never met Tom before, but he's a top bloke and proved that experience and common sense are more valuable than a workshop full of diagnostic equipment as he changed the jetting on the carbs and had the car running perfectly by the time we left.

The electronic ignition failed on the way back and the car had to be taken home by the AA.

I love working on competition cars.

My sympathies. I ruptured mine a few years ago. Felt an almighty crack as I stepped over something followed by intense swelling & bruising over my foot & calf. I somehow managed a 1 3/4" rupture in my calf.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

I just saw Hugo Taylor and Natalie Joel (and the pasty-faced bloke who's name I can't remember) carrying a huge mirror into their new apartment off the Kings Road. Oh, and using a £9p/h ZipVan to carry it home.

I had no idea who those people were until I Googled them, and now have no idea why you knew who they were.
