Since this thread was started seven years ago , what's the sudden hurry ?
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Everything has been ready for a couple of months now except for one thing.
ETA movements are supplied with a white date wheel by default and you have to order the black date wheel separately. Now you would expect them to be an off-the-shelf item but delivery is now three months past the promised date. As soon as the date wheels arrive, it's ready.

Thanks for the update Eddie
Quite exciting really. Sure to make a lot of people grin. Can't wait
Whoever is interested in the watch, I'd say it's time to replace that old F5 key, it'll come in handy in the next month or so
I'm very tempted to try and get a Dreadnought GMT and am wondering (as I've never bought one of Eddie's watches before) what the process is?
I understand it's First Come, First Served, but is there usually a warning that a watch will be available on a certain day, at a certain time, or is it a case of watching the site like a hawk, night and day?
I could probably manage the latter, except I'm going to be away from home for most of the next 3 weeks, just when the DN GMT is, it seems, slated for release.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Eddie usually gives warning before a new major release (times vary). Then it is a battle to see who is lucky enough to get one.
Thanks - I guess I'll have to make sure I check as regularly as I can while I'm away :)

Will have to camp out here on TZ-UK and on the Timefactors homepage! Between this and the Smiths Diver, this could be an expensive summer (if, counter-intuitively) I am lucky!
I see that there will be many campers, Obi-wan
I've been interested in this thread since it started back in bloomin' 2006!!
I'm in the market for a new watch and have been browsing Sales Corner literally hourly for weeks, but....
I haven't bought anything because I'm hanging in for one of these.
Just hope that:-
a) I have enough money in the 'slush fund' (anyone dare hazard a guess at what the damage may be..?) (NO)
b) I'm not on bloody holiday when they're finally released!! (anyone dare hazard a guess at when then might be...?) (NO)
Just wish I'd got in on the 'pink list' like Simona...
I am wearing my Dreadnought GMT today!
Well to be fair, it's a Dreadnought on one wrist and a Speedbird GMT on the other, while I time them ;)
It's just a matter of time...
I don't think there is a list. Click on the timefactors link at the top of the page and add yourself to the mailing list.. but don't use a hotmail or similar account as it may be rejected as spam. You should receive an email a few days before the watch is released... then be the first lucky few to log onto the website to buy... its a race and speed counts!
From one Canuck to another, thank you! I have done so and will hope to be one of the lucky few who get an order in before they sell out. Cheers!
Yeah, me too, mate.
But there will eventually be two runs that the thread speaks of - so if you miss the first you dont need to beat yourself up (like I did when I missed out on the DN). This thread has run for several years. I have contacted Eddie and once or twice wasted his time over the last couple of years asking noob-like questions about the DNGMT. He has been more than friendly and forthright in explaining that this is the way he works and he considers the way he offers watches to be fair to all.
Since all we seem to be waiting for is a DW overlay, I would say that it is tantalisingly close.
And yes - I have changed from being an avid lurker and checking in on the thread here every few weeks, to checking in every day - just to be sure!!
Since Western Australia is about +7 hrs diff to GMT, I reckon I will be using the refresh key quite a lot in the wee hours of my morning to take my best shot. Haven't been so excited about a new watch release in a looooong time.
How will the specs for the new GMT version compare to the following specs for the original?
53mm lug to lug
49mm wide (incl crown)
16mm high
28mm dial
22mm lugs
3mm thick saphire crystal (with AR inside)
Screw-down crown
265 grams incl bracelet with all links
Water resistent to 500 meters
Anti-Magnetic to 30,000 A/m
ETA 2824-2 certified chronometer
The movement is different and the case is 300 metres so it's slimmer and lighter.

I believe Eddie mentione an ETA 2893-2 gmt movement for the DN.
Here's hoping it comes out soon and I get to grab one :)
Two production runs have been mentioned. Will that be it with no subsequent releases?
How many watches are anticipated for each production run?
Yeah. My apologies fellas. Sorry I took the bait. I thought Mike might appreciate a straight answer.
I'm so confused!
So SeaDog, when did Eddie confide in you that there would only be 16 DN GMT's produced? This has got to be a great shock and disappointment to all those who've waited so long for this day to come.
Misery is the right word! I've been miserable since I screwed up and sold the original DN I had back in 2004.

Congratulations Eddie, looks superb and I'm sure another classic has been created.
Looking forward to seeing some more pics of that, nice job Eddie.
Eddie that is really superb. If i miss out i miss out but that would be My regular daily watch.I also love the PRS-30 just so different from other watches out there.Eddie you have a knack for producing really great value for money and unique timepieces long may it continue.
That GMT certainly looks special, can't wait for this to come out.
