Can't complain seeing as I don't pay for it! Just moved to a new house and they can't connect phone/BB until the tail end of next month as there is a cancellation notice on the line, so using a BT wifi log-in from a friend at present.

I realised I hadn't done a test since getting an upgrade to 120Mpbs down. I rectified that last night. These are speeds over my wifi.
At home I get about 30-40Mb down and 9-10 Mb up (Sky fibre)
At work however:
Not as good as what I used to get:
Ah well - maybe I'll have to get the connection "upgraded" here too :-)
Cheers,
Peaking around 4meg at home now - I feel giddy!
Maybe I could watch a movie in low-res, provided the missus isn't on ebay and the kids aren't playing Minecraft or Angry Birds Friends....
So clever my foot fell off.
Virgin media - getting 60 M down 3M up in SW18
Feel like going to the BT office and throttling someone
Usually runs at around 1.9 Mbs but lately BT have been dishing it out verty slowly!
Will have to change as they're Carp (really trying not to swear as this aint the Boys room )
John..
Think I need a new router..
Still not great but back to what it normally is after unplugging the router for 5mins..
John..
^I changed from HH3 to HH4 and it made a big difference to speed and reliability. I was constantly re-setting the old one.
Sorry, I'm a computer thicky and don't know what that means
It's just gone bad again
Think i'll just pack in with the internet as it gets my back up pretty bad when it's messing about
We looked at other servers and what they could do, best was up to 6.5Mbs but would 'up to'mean just the same as we're getting now
John
You can upgrade to a HomeHub 4 via the BT site for £35. Your existing router would have been supplied with BT diagnostic tools (on the installation disc) called BT Home Help, which should sit on your desktop. That can sometimes resolve issues for you too.
I'm with Sky.
I was on their unlimited broadband and paying £7.50 per month. Was getting around 5Mbps down, 0.7Mbps up and ping for about 25mS.
As a treat I upgraded to Fibre for £20 per month. I now get around 38Mbps down, 9Mbps up and ping of around 6mS.
Is it worth the extra. To be honest if you are just doing browsing then know - you probably won't even notice the difference.
Where you see an improvement is downloading big files (like game updates on Steam or streaming\downloading movies).
I'm sticking with it because it is better and now I have tasted it I wouldn't want to lose it. But had I known originally I would have probably stayed on Unlimited Broadband and saved myself £150 per year.
Cheers,
Nigel
