I'm glad they built those Pennines to stop it coming over to Stockport!

What's powering the camcorder....a generator?
Well the snow got as far as Glossop and the Woodhead Pass A628 has been closed
Blooming first bit of snow here for ages and the power goes off but not just off, it manages a couple of blips just before and in the process blows the boards on a Plasma M/C and CNC drill, looks like Monday is going to be fun fixing them !!!
Cheers

Ralph Waldo Emerson: We ask for long life, but 'tis deep life, or noble moments that signify. Let the measure of time be spiritual, not mechanical.
It's a bit early what with Easter still a week away. Perhaps it's just practising for later on.
I got into work today and one of the technicians had told me that a window had blown open in the server room, a pile of snow had appeared in the corner and the servers were a degree off their minimum operating temp and were getting ready to shut down.
A snowball fight in the server room is a surreal experience.
Daylight Saving Time within 8/9 days. Oh well, it gives us an extra hour daylight when shoveling snow...
Often, when the weather overhere is fair / bad, the weather across the ocean (US, Can) is bad and vica versa. Not this time. According to my wife (she's in NY at the moment) are local TV station hosts also complaining about the cold weather overthere. And she's heading north to MA and NH next week...

You should see it up here in S10. Blizzard conditions now :P
Are we supposed to be able to see something in the bedroom window over the road?
Updated this afternoon.

Always get a bit here in north wales too..
this is my lane today
My annual Golf Trip with School Mates is cancelled. We were heading to Dorking. All the planning, all the cost, buggered.
Last year we were getting sunburnt.
If Mother Nature was here now, I'd set the bloody dog on her!
Martin.
Nice drive through the countryside :)
I happened to be re-reading "Phantom Raider" by Ulrich Mohe & Av Sellwood. This may strike a chord:
"It was the month of March... March, 1940. It was the third week of the month, and a day of bitter cold. The Kiel Canal was frozen; the shore a ridge of white. It was the last month of a winter that had seemed without ending, the prelude to the war's first spring."
So here's hoping the rest of the year will be like 1940, warm and with a summer extending well through October... But obviously without the Messerschmits & Panzers.
Mike.
I note that the term ' Global Warming' has been replaced by ' Climate Change'.
Apparently it was 21 deg C in London on this weekend last year.

You've got to feel sorry for folk having to dig their cars out of three feet of snow on a Sunday afternoon.
The farmer cleared as much as he could without hitting the cars.
150 yards away the roads were clear - the lane is a well known snow drift spot around here
