It is indeed. Just to update, the track day at Cadwell was great and the car never missed a beat and coped much better than I had dared to expect.
Climbing the mountain
I also filmed some video which can be seen below. The track was very greasy as can be seen with my moment at 8 minutes

I'm not entirely sure what it was as only the camera picked it up. It was mounted on one of the rear headrests so probably something connected to the rear seat?
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
'55 plate VW Polo. happy enough with it, got a good deal 3 years ago & haven't had any problems with it since

Time to bump this thread back up. Here is my new toy, will be kitted out to hopefully take me on many enjoyable trips
Those grass patches around make it look like you and your neighbour really need those muddy 4x4s.
This is my new toy - yet to test - but makes all the right noises in my garage
I don't drive anything exciting these days but this used to be fun
Cheers,
I suspect I'll not be permitted to take it out on a normal track day due to "open wheels" but I'll be doing as many Hillclimbs and Sprints as time (and funds) permit.
With "only" 600bhp/ton and a fairly average driver, it'll not worry the big boys, but should be a bit of fun and quicker than last season's one which is taking a year off
(mine's the one on the right)
Owned this a few years ago. Sold it for £895 so you might guess it was a long time ago. The present owner didn't buy it from me but he inherited it from his dad who bought it in 1972

It's almost 19 years old now, some non-vital plastic parts have broken, the paintwork is scratched and dull and this winter it got a refurbished engine. VW T4 5-cilinder diesel. Hardly 80 hp. Not fast but it gets you almost anywhere carrying five people plus a ton of stuff.
Of course its primary purpose is to transport this:
No need for a circuit and no traffic jams.

BMW M5, the last of its type with a manual box. Here at Oulton Park. Have owned it 13 years from new. love it!
And for blasting across Europe, 1967 Sunbeam Tiger with small block ford V8, tuned with nearly 400 bhp at the flywheel, it's fun to keep it in a straight line - Pic from the local carwash :)
Off to the Spa Classic and Nurburgring in it in May :')
If you like 'roadgrime' here's the M5 at a track day at Elvington, York.
Detroyed a set of tyres that day :(

Jaguar XKR. I've had this for four years and I've no plans to change it, even though running it doesn't make financial sense - 13 MPG!
SL 500 Very Civilised.
The "stable" today! "Little Beemer" 1960 BMW Isetta, 911 Carrera Cabriolet 3.4, the Gypsy Wagon, and '71 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow still hibernating in the garage...

Nothing too special in the 4-wheel dept (Audi Cab still being fettled, MX-5 on loan to a pal, Honda 'Dog-mobile' doing daily beach-runs) but the latest road-toy has arrived - and is getting more of a look-in than the Blackbird at the mo, given the state of the roads around here:
Great fun around the lanes it is too: did 300 miles on Friday courtesy of the muffs:
