I don't know how you do it Foggy, a real gem.
Hi all
I've not found much in the way of military watches at the boot sales recently. Today, with the rain lashing down, there were only half a dozen sellers on site.
However, one seller did have this WWII Royal Navy issue Waltham 60 second timer. It wasn't working, but I thought it was clean enough to invest a tenner on. Once home, I removed the balance, refitted it as it had been installed incorrectly, and it's now running perfectly :)
Cheers

Nice find Foggy.

Another nice watch Foggy.
You've been missed "over there".
Take care.
Hi Stan,
I will second that, I miss the "today at the car boot" post's as well as Foggy's wide military watch knowledge, on the "other side".
MIKE..
Got to be a great buy for a tenner Foggy.
I blew out my usual saturday boot sales because of the rain. :(
What would the stopwatch have been used for?
Torpedoes running?
Cheers,
Neil.
Hi Neil,
I was wondering the same thing. It wouldnt be torpedoes as specific watches are used for that (see pic).
Hi James/Neil
Good question, and one that I don't know the answer to - sorry.
Re the torpedo timer - I have one like the Precista shown, but made by CWC. A 1984 RN issue watch. These things have an incredible balance rate, with up to 100 beats per second
Cheers
