Want to buy an Omega and get rid of Tag heuer!

    Hello People,

My name is Steven and I live in Manchester.
In fact i am studying at the University of Manchester.

Since young, i am a great enthusiast of watches. I have been purchasing cheap brands like Casio, Fossil, Boss etc..

But 3 weeks ago, I went to LVMH store and bought a new Tag Heuer WAJ2112. It is the new Aquaracer 500m with latest calibre 5 movement.
I had spent around £1700+ for it.

Although i really like the watch, i found that Omega watches look better than the watch i bought. So, i want to sell it.

I have never worn the watch since I planned to wear it only for special occasions.

So does anybody know a great way to sell the watch?

For the moment i listed the watch on Gumtree.

    http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/ne...300/1003722876

Taking into consideration the bad resale value of the watch, i set a price of £1025.

I want to so much an Omega that i accept to make big loss in selling the watch.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Steven

Try taking it to a jeweller who deals in both Omega and TAG and see if they will do a part exchange.

    Where is the LVMH shop?
The address on the warranty card relates to the service centre in Walkden.

I have a feeling the TAG outlets come stamped LVMH, or at least mine did a few years ago.

It is an automatic with latest calibre 5 movement (ETA 2836)

If anyone is interested it would be great.
I went to Beaverbrooks, Ernst & Jones, Goldsmiths etc and they told me that it is better to sell privately.

This is because they have to spend much on verifying the watch, servicing, etc...

I am going on holidays in some weeks and i really wish to sell it quickly.

    Thanks!

I suggest you stick it on eBay fora quick sale. This type of thing is usually frowned upon.

Looks like it's eBay or an insurance job*, then.

*Not that I would, in any way, condone using eBay.

    I think I can help

    Which Omega are you after??

Why dont you send me your watch and the price diff of the omega you fancy, when I say me, really I mean my none traceable PO box, I have to use a PO box these days because I can no longer tell the different between the postmans knock and the TV detector van mans knock. Once I take delivery of the watch and cash, I will go and buy the Omega of your choice and personally deliver it to you, even if you are on your holiday as I feel a holiday coming up for myself too. GET BACK TO ME ASAP.

    Being serious for a moment...

There was a guy called Swanbourne on here looking for one of these. If you PM him with a link to this thread I'm 100% certain he'll sort you out.

In fact i would have sell it on ebay.

But the limit i can sell per month is £750.

Moreover the ebay and paypal fees are excessive.

Furthermore, I should wait a very looooooong time to receive my money via paypal. Therefore, selling it privately is the best decision.

It would be easier to sell it in Manchester. Sending the watch for shipment will definitely worry me.
So if anyone is in Manchester or NEAR Manchester and is seeking for a really new watch at a "WOW" price, let's make a deal :)
If i get a client outside Manchester, I am ready to take the train. :P

A pic of the watch i took 2mins ago attached :D

Has anyone considered that Steven might be a foreign student here in the UK, and just generally ignorant of the rules of the forum regarding SC etc.?

I don't think this is a wind-up - he's not asking for advice about which flip-flops to sell in his shoe shop after all.

If that's so then this speaks a lot for the entry requirements for the University of Manchester; the rules are in huge yellow boxes before you sign in...

Edit: said in jest before UoM alumni hunt me down

Even esteemed members of the Russell Group are partial to some international fees in their coffers. I sold a guitar to a young Chinese lad from UoM a few weeks ago and his English was fair to middling, though he had only been here a month or so in his defence.

Back on topic - still think this is probably an innocent punt at getting rid of a Tag.

So, the OP bought it, brand new from a dealer, to use 'at weddings'.. but since the very day he bought it, he left it in the box.

    What a load of pony.
