Hello! You on vx220.org?
Is yours supercharged? I've been thinking abut it but instead looking to upgrade the wrist wear instead :)
Took the car on a track day to llandow in the summer and it was keeping up with road tyre'd turbos easily, as it's running R1R tyres.
Bit crap in the bad weather though.

Yup same username on .org been on there over 8 years and had the car 7.5. Didn't make it to the national though as it was the weekend after a bit Scottish Elise event.
Used to have plans to move to a tubby or supercharge it but I love it so much I'm scared of ruining it. so bought a motorbike instead :D
Had enough of the diesels, now back into a gorgeous V8 - 26-28MPG average - I'm quite content with that.

Since my last car failed it's MOT, and having no real need for a car as we both worked fairly close to home, we didn't have a car for a few months. The Wife got offered a new job recently, just as I finished my nurse training, in a rural part of Scotland that we've aspired to move too for a long time :). So we had nine days to source a car for not a lot of money before we moved! Picked up a SAAB 9-3 low pressure turbo coupe, MY 2000, 95k, years MOT and taxed until end of December, under two miles from home and two days before we left! Had a red NG900 previously so knew what I was letting myself in for
Looks far better in the oics than it really is, but it's a tidy old thing for £600. Needs some suspension work and a set of winter tyres are on order as we now live 14 miles up a single track road. It returns 33mpg roughly, and has a fair turn of speed when you need it. It's also about to undergo a 400+ mile weekly commute in my new job!

Used to have this:
But it has now been replaced by an X3. (which itself is due to be replaced in November)

Ah, in Norway this was referred to as ''The winter car'' - hugely underrated chariots here in UK !!!
Very sad to see they are now history (hope I am wrong !)
Still these two.......
Here is mine, on the hunt for an mx5 as a daily (hint :))
Can't kill this old thing....2007 and 104,000 miles.
At least can find this in car park, and can raise few eyebrows.Volvo 850 T5-R
Have a sneaky feeling that this may well be mine by the weekend...
Bit of a difference from the Clio 182
Ford Mondeo ST Tdci with a little tuning box on it quite fun to drive, good economy too.... but looking for something different.... seen some very nice LS430's out there....Mmmmmmm
That is a bargain. I know it's got a certain amount of Vauxhall in, but it still looks and feels like a Saab. The prices for the pre-GM ones has gone well above what I'd be prepared to pay.
I think the rest of the day will be spent on autotrader and reading up on how to do this
Heres mine:
Just love my V8 grand cherokee, I had a normal 4.0 cherokee for three or four years and loved it , This one cropped up and i couldnt resist Its a 2000 4.7 that belonged to a surgeon as a toy, It has just about every extra you can imagine (inc engine bits) and is unbelievably quick! I do envy you living in the land of easy spares, for all the bits & extras you can buy so cheap, Never any need to get rid of a jeep really, Over here its not as easy finding nice little add ons, Could desperately do with a set of window lower trims but over here they are the price of a little car LOL.

Nice Monte Carlo in the back ground as well, not to mention the integrale!
Would love to hear more about long-term Jalpa ownership - can you give a little taster of how things have panned out in terms of the driving experience and costs?
I spent a few weeks thinking about it a few years back but my lack of knowledge about specialists put me off.
With the arrival of children, it's no longer on the cards but I still remember my initial interest was sparked when I saw this:
AlphaOmega, this clip of it in the Alps probably says more than i ever could. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4W-Jr8FXrxw
All you need for the low pressure turbo models is an APC valve and a re-map, 100ish quid all in and it goes from 154bhp to 225bhp! They go like stink, awesome overtaking power and quite economical too, mid 30's easy on a steady run. They changed the engine and management system in mid 2000 so mine is the last of the trionic 5 cars; engines are good for 450bhp standard! Later trionic 7 cars are only good for 300bhp before they need forged pistons. Worst thing about them is the handling, needs £120 spent on the 9-3 of that era straight away. Hugely practical with the rear seats folded, I got; a fridge, cooker and three kids bikes in the back, to take to the dump. They are great beaters for the money.
Go to uksaabs.co.uk for anything you need to know, fantastic bunch on the site and a few are members on here too :)
