Looks like a Seiko 6105-8110/9 case - very nice
It's a good start.... I see a taste of Certina DS-2.
By the way, I have just expressed my interest in your (Sewills) Chronograph project in a different thread. But if the Smiths Diver comes to market first...
Yes! Dial visuals please!
What we talking time scale? 3 years?
Looks damn cool.
Too much teasing going on the Timefactors forum at the moment. It felt like it shut down over Summer, and now every day there are more quality posts on it :-)
Would love to see if this gets made though as a couple of others that are in the pipeline are going to be a bit big for my little wrists :-(
Yes but make the bronze one first.
Indeed there is Eddie.
If you've seen the dial on a similar watch then you've seen the dial on this.

Good choice, its a classic design from the past that Seiko should have kept with.
Will it be supplied on a traditional style bracelet or something new ?
Cheers

Now this looks very promising. If I would only know if they are to be sold on bracelet or rubber strap....
Yes there is from me. A nice addition to my collection
WOW!!!!!!!
No other watch will ever be desired by myself when this beauty becomes available.
This IS the cure! :)
I would have to order 500 bracelets to get the correct one so I'm planning to supply on a waffle strap.

I saw the case and was thinking it looked a bit like the Blancpain ff bund.

The quartz with 10 year battery life as an option?
Looks great, am interested. Any chance for a 2012 release?
BTW: Jake at 10watches is doing something similar.
Excellent let's see how similar it is. Does he have a little more detail? (Well, he has now that I've posted the drawings).
This has been on the drawing board for almost a year, the delay was sourcing the bevelled sapphire crystal, whick I believe is essential.

THAT, is a great idea, for a top selling watch!
Would you possibly be considering a miyota movement by any chance?
I'm not sure if irony is your thing.
Looks interesting for sure...
Any chance of a mock up Eddie for those of us who are not draughtsmen, pics please.
Looks interesting, Eddie!

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
I can't wait to see the finished article. Put me down for one anyway Eddie.
wow nice piece :-) it is another tease but pls release the Dreadnought GMT first ...
Can't wait to see this one finished, I'll join the queue for one now.
Looking forward getting my hands on that, great asymmetrical case design.
if funds allow when watch becomes available, id be interested. looks like a good one
That case with 20mm lugs and waffle strap looks very interesting, so if funds allow I'll get one
I for one would be very interested. i don't think you will have any trouble shifting these the 6105 is to Seiko what the Seamaster 300 is to Omega,Iconic. However, I am hoping that it is a close homage to the original.Ie, raised hour markers, same hand shape. I wonder if you will put a raised 'Smiths' on the dial where the original displays 'Seiko' I think that would be real cool. Shame about the bracelet though as I personally think the 6105 looks and wears better on an oyster. There are people though already selling after market bracelets for the 6105 so as long as the lugs are the same shape as the original that will solve that problem. An AR coated sapphire crystal would also be a nice touch. In any event im sure its going to be another iconic Smiths piece. Regards. Kev
I've just come off the phone having had a conversation about a suitable bracelet but with solid end links which will accept 2.5mm springbars.

Very interested as my first step into Smiths.
Huge interest from me. In fact I have a deposit if it's wanted / needed. :)
