Of course you can but still you should not
The Omega Rubber Diver Strap is superb, and designed especially for the SMP:

I have this rubber strap sat in my basket at Cousin's but I'm currently resisting hitting the 'buy' button....:)

Love my smp on the omega rubber with deployment......
Nice watches, thought you weren't bothered anymore though mate, the one above would be the only other I'd wear! NATOs are GAY
Looks excellent on the rubber! That gets my vote.

I'm a big fan of an SM on leather, to be sure.
This is vintage, but my 2255.80 looks great on leather too! Please excuse the lint.
stop teasing me merlin!! :)Originally Posted by MerlinShepherd
I have a blue rubber oem strap with deployment on eBay at the moment if anyone is interested. It's a great combo!
Maybe something like this:
I was surprised how sharp it looks on a 4 buckle NATO strap in black.
I have ordered a couple of Maratac in different colours/styles to figure out the killer combos.

Couldn't say more about brilliant this strap is by Omega!

Anything else you'll get bored of quickly and put it back on the bracelet or wish you'd bought the OEM rubber.
Just my tupence worth having owned 4 2254's.
I rang the Regent Street boutique to order this strap and was told the 98000085 isn't for a 2254 and also doesn't come with a buckle. But the 98000037 leather look rubber and Omega deployment would be perfect (and about £200 more!). Did anyone else have difficulty getting the buckle? Did you have to specify the part number for it??Originally Posted by BigBird
Also the leather look strap, on Ofrei it says it isn't waterproof. Why make it rubber then??
They are talking rubbish.Originally Posted by Dibergio
The seamaster 20mm strap and planet ocean 20mm strap differ at lug ends, so don't fall in to that trap.
For your seamaster, you want a 98000085 strap with 9451-2012 olympic buckle.
These (sold together) can be had from Omega Westfield for approx £100.
My old one:
I called Westfield Omega and had a similar conversation with a female member of staff who refused to accept that the SMP rubber can be fitted with a buckle! I politely finished the call and back yesterday, chap called Sean was right on the ball, he has subsequently ordered me a rubber strap (98000085) @ £90 and thrown in a buckle and spring at for free!! RMSD @ £10, so £100 all in, delivered!! Think that's rather good personally.
I got my strap on Friday, I'm really pleased with it. :D However it's still not 100% - they fitted the PO buckle which has a thinner pin. Stupidly didn't notice until after leaving the Regent Street boutique.
I went back in there later and pointed it out. I was then reliably informed by a very sure of himself man that the PO strap is a better fit for the SM  (despite me telling him otherwise) and that it is highly unlikely the right buckle can be sourced. I gave him the part number and he said he would get his colleague to chase it up. I get the feeling nothing will have happened so am gonna give them a call again.
Why does it have to be so hard??
It does look very cool though, it's like a new watch all over!
She looks good on mesh too.
Just fitted a Hirsch Mobile on mine, quite surprised how good it looks. 8)
you could strap a 2254 on to your wrist with a turd and it would still look good.
some great options on this thread
i would like to see a picture of an orange isofrane on a 2254.50
anyone ?
I had mine on Mesh and the Coramide
A black, matt and smooth strap suits this watch best imo, be it rubber or leather, but any other type just doesn't look right
Sorry no pics but i like the original bracelet on mine.but really like the look of the rubber divers .
The rubber is nice, but too much for the money. Bracelet all the way for me...
After seeing this thread, I may have to see if my Bremont rubber strap will fit on my Seamaster or my Sub :)
Update -Strap too wide, but also would need to purchase another buckle :(

Looks gorgeous on the omega rubber, maybe I am biased as I have the PO on the rubber with buckle.
I think it's the fact that the strap is "sculpted" to the case that makes all the difference
Think there is just the one length. I've got 7" wrists and have it done snug - there is about 2cm after the last keeper.
It's been over a year since I got the OEM rubber on it, and it's amazing. I put the bracelet back on for a wedding, but apart from that the rubber hasn't left. The edges aren't as crisp anymore, but there hasn't been any visible wear on the 'notches'.
I have finally fitted the Omega OEM rubber strap on pin & buckle, very easy job but took less than 5 mins once the lugs were taped up.
I have not encountered any of the problems reported by others such as 1) the spring bars had to be 'bent' slightly [spring bars must have been fractionally too long to start with if you had this issue] or 2) the bezel rotates more stiffer than before [bezel is still stiff but NOT noticeably more]
The Omega rubber strap has totally transformed this Seamaster into the most comfortable wearing and most Toolish looking watch in Seamaster current and past range. The rubberised leather strap on deployant does not look as nice and is too dressy for a Tool watch, even though the deployant is a nice touch, just a shame the rubber strap did not have a deployant fitted as the tail ends are thin enough for a deployant to be added.
The only possible 'concern' is where the tail end of rubber strap gets 'bent' to fit the tail under the 2 keepers, I wonder if this will cause the tail end of the rubber strap to degrade and weaken over time - any long term wearers of this Omega rubber strap voice their experience/opinions?
