Thread: I've joined the Speedbird club - 197/300

    I've joined the Speedbird club - 197/300

With many thanks to a good friend here on the forum I now have a PRS-1.

I enjoy wearing my WWWs etc, but they are not ideal daily wearers - the Speedbird gives me what I need. Has anyone any strap suggestions please?

well done David, I'm sure you'll find as I do, that these are fantastic everyday watches.
I now have mine on a black Hirsch Carbon Sport witha deployment that Eddie put on it from new...very comfortable, and classic looking watches.

must go and get the camera out 8)

I think I'd go NATO on that. Failing that, a nice, simple black with matching stitching should do. Brushed deployant buckle?

    Hi Davide,

To be honest, it'll look good on most straps :D

A great watch, and I hope to be able to post similar pictures with an SB3 eventuelly. :)

Brown with matching stitching, or a gray NATO would be my strap recommendations. Personally, I think rivets overpower the watch, but many apparently think differently.
    Cheers,

    Martin ("Crusader")

Again, Ron - great photos of Eddie's watches. Really show the watches off to their best. (That photo above inspired me to try just that combo on an old Oris - thanks!)

Great photos - they all look great, thankyou - so I'm going to need a Hirsch Liberty, black croc, canvas, black plain, an aviator and some deployants  :)

Man thats nice! :) I really like the look on the black croc. very classic and dressy! I would wear that to a formal function for sure!

There can't be many watches that look so good on straps ranging from grey NATO to luxury black croc.

After a day's wear I feel this is one of the most handsome watches I've owned. Photos rarely show this, although Ron's pic captures it well.

I've worn mine with everything from a tux to jeans and a t-shirt. The watch goes with everything. It gets worn to work often but I usually wear it when we get semi-dressy (ie shirt and tie) and my wife and daughter wear their PRS-15's also on black croc.

    Davide,

lovely watch, lucky man! Envy you. I wore my SBII/Mk. 48 on one of Eddie's aviators, with a gorgeous deployment (all thanks to XPat) but I since got an "Ascent Titanium" from the Strap Shop, which I haven't persuaded my Dad to try on yet, but which looks rather nice and stealthy IMHO - no stitching, let alone contrast stitching.

Congrats on the great new addition! I've always admired the Speedbird, and like the DN, wish I had gotten in while there was gettin' to be done :)
    Cheers,
    Bruce
