Hi all,
just joined. A bit surprised by the 50 posts rule, so I post this and will get many member saying "welcome" because they need to get their post count up...? A bit funny, what is the point?
Anyway, here I am. I live in Sweden and have had the same Chronoswiss watch for 17 years until I recently got the bug. Now the watch count is moving up every month and I get more and more passionate about it. I got a couple of watches on my list, but then I got 49 posts left to tell you all about it. :-)

Welcome, I also recently joined, and no, I'm not saying hello to everyone. There are enough topics where you can contribute and share knowledge with other members. At least, that's how I see it. Have fun here!

Just afraid that I do not have so much to contribute, and asking 50-ish stupid questions just in order to get the post count up also doesn't sound the route to take. Well, anyway. Will hang in and see how long it takes until I will be taken serious....

Hi & welcome, just relax & enjoy the forum contribute to the posts you find interesting & before you know it you'll not only be able to access the sales corner but you might even have an idea of what it is you want to buy. Posting just to get your count up to hit sales corner will not help you fit in & is really missing the point of what the whole forum is all about. The Sales Corner is just a by product of the forum & is a place for members to exchange their watches in a safe environment & should not be viewed as a shop as such. Plus 250 posts gives you a great chance to look around & get involved, to increase your knowledge & define your tastes so you can look for watches you would really like to own without getting sidetracked by impulse buys of all the nice shiny watches for sale. :lol:

I am not interested to post on the sales corner - sorry if that got across wrongly. Just feel that half the forums are closed to me, can't even look around. That is what I found strange. But I am not here to challenge your rules, sorry if the discussion took that turn. I am sure the rules are there for a reason and have no problem with that.

I think it is 50 posts to view sales corner. Perhaps you need 250 in order to actually post in there.
Welcome aboard.......the post rule is a good thing to be honest, but once you get past the 50 you can pm a seller, as for selling its there to stop rogues flogging camels :wink: and quite rightly so
I would have liked to be able to see the "Reviews" section, dont understand why that is restricted. As to the sales corner, think its a good thing I don't have access as I am currently a tad bit too interested in new watches - probably saves me some bucks (or Kronor as we say in Sweden) to have no access.

That was the only strange thing I found out as well, as a newbie I'm interested in reviews, info, etc. But anyhow, You'll find your way in there soon enough.

Generally speaking, the "amount of posts"-rule helps us all make transactions with less risk, so not all bad, even though the frustration is understandable... :)
I btw do try to say hello every time a new member posts - hopefully it makes them feel welcome 8)

Be surprised how quick they add up and without just posting rubbish.
I like the idea of the count saves everyone and cuts out the time wasters.

If you're not logged in, the review forum can be viewed by anyone. When you're logged in it's restricted....it's a by product of the post count restrictions on the other sub forums I think?

OK, now I got it. Browsed around a bit and must say this was exactly what I was looking for: nice reviews by proud owners. I particularily liked the 50 Fathoms review by (what was his alias again, would need to log out to check it up - you know who) and also some nice peices by other members. Will write up a piece about my watches as soon as I have my credits together.
