What is your favourite Patek Philippe from the current collection? Planning my 50th b day list, I'm only 43, but could take awhile to save for....

I'm currently saving for a nautilus :)
I would say :
sport collection : Nautilus
perpetual calendar : 5396
chronograph : 5004
Very kind of you to buy me my favourite PP for your 50th, we've not even met. I'll have a look now and get back to you.
Cheers, Chris.
One day, maybe
The one left to you by your father............. :D
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Personally, I have never seen one I like the look of. Sure, they're superbly made and the movements are works of art but they just don't do it for me. That said, this one (given that it sold recently so is kind of current!!!) is stunning:

I would also have to consider it for some kind of landmark as even the 3-hand Cavaltravas are the price of a car.
The other problem with saving for a dream Patek is that prices keep going up above the rate of inflation so you're chasing a moving target.
I've had a look at Patek's recently (not that I can afford one) but if I could I would go for the 5296R - Mens Rose Gold Calatrava, pure class.
Stunning watch, but not too sure about the "hollow" lugs. :?Originally Posted by robcat
If it was for occasional use (formal dinners, etc) then any of the handwind watches in the Calatrava range. My particular favourite is the 5196R in rose gold with seconds sub-dial.
the 5960P would be an excellent purchase.
Simply stunning:
Love that plain and simple!

Real world
Either a simple Cavaltrava or in an ideal world an annual calendar.
Fantasy land
Love the retrograde date perpetuals
Well I have the 5167 which I love but I do very much like the 5960.
Keep hunting, the sector dial on that calatrava is beautiful. I'd have that in Ross gold in a heart beat.
Search: Men -> Classic -> Steel -> Manual winding/Self-winding -> 0 watches correspond to your criteria :(
Saved few quid there... :D
Nice steel sports for me - the poor man's Patek but my favourite. Simple is best - jumbo on steel bracelet(with maybe a spare rubber).
It's just a matter of time...
Maybe I have simple tastes but this would be my favourite.
My favourite is the 5146j
“ Ford... you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.” HHGTTG
Without doubt, the 5980/1A. Although one would set you back 25k min, probably a good investment as most PPs are.
My vote also!Originally Posted by cmcm3

Would love a 5270 but pretty pricey.
Not usually a lover of the aquanaut, but the new bigger size one is very nice.

The Nautilus would be my choice.
like perpetuals but would go for Nautilus chrono.

GOT...TO...KILL...CAPTAIN STUPID!
This one for me.....a classic and relatively attainable
Not their Uber expensive model but the 5140 has been my favourite watch from any brand for some years now.
The Patek Philippe 5970 is my favourite current model:
this....
Any Nautilus, but especially the chrono. With a wait list of several years for certain models, get your deposit down nowOriginally Posted by explorer 1
It'll turn up about the right time, then take out the 0% finance, job done, and none of that horrible, never quick enough saving up issue :)
The Nautilus is the only current Patek i really yearn for - Gorgeous !

for me it would either be the 5960p chrono or nautilus 5980 chrono or the new 5270 is just sublime

any of those 3 i would be happy forevermore with
I would have always said Nautilus, but this is f**kin lovely.Originally Posted by S.L

simple but beautiful and elegant
but, *if* money was no object - for the sheer engineering genius of it
this
I tried one on today in David Duggan and I have to say I'm not keen. Gutted!Originally Posted by explorer 1
It looks a little try-hard with the detailed dial sitting behind the very simple hands. Also tried a 5196 in rose gold which looked far more the part
A simple Nautilus:

I was also thinking of starting a 5 year savings plan to buy a Patek, would love the one below but being just a poor man probably would get the plain dial blue Nautilus.
