Thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and watches stolen

Jewellery and watches worth £80,000 were stolen in a burglary from a cottage in Stedham near Midhurst.

Police are now trying to trace the stolen property which was taken sometime between 4.15pm and 6.45pm on Tuesday 1 November.

The property which was stolen included:
A Ruben & Zorweg Time Mover Evolution 8 watch case worth £1,500
A Rolex, stainless steal watch made in 1961*worth £2,500
A Rolex Chronometer watch, yellow gold with a pink face, made in 1950 serial number 61617*worth £8,500
A Vacheron Constantin Jubilee 1755 watch, white gold with an etched face, serial number 85258, 79728, worth £8,500
A Jaegar Le Coultre Amvox2 Platinum watch serial number 192.6.25.2403847 worth £16,600
A Jaegar Le Coultre Amvox2 white gold watch serial number 142.8.92 No 8800 worth £5,480
A Jaegar Le Coultre Master Control watch white gold bought September 2005 serial number 142.8.92No 8800 worth £5,480
A Jaegar Le Coultre Master Compressor Geographic watch, bought March 2005, serial number 146.8.83 number 2830 worth £5,650
A Tag Heuer watch with a stainless steel face and blue strap worth £600
A Omega Chronograph watch white gold with black face and black strap worth £4,500

Numerous items of jewellery were also stolen including a Tiffany Elsa Peretti Diamond by the Yard silver necklace with three small diamonds worth £1,700 and a gold necklace with a smooth*gold pendant.

There was also more than 100 other necklaces, bracelets and earrings, mainly in silver and totalling more than £3,000. A money box was also opened and £100 cash removed from it.

A 29-year-old man from Alton, Hampshire, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and released on bail until 19 December.

If anyone has been offered any of the stolen property or seen it then contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1515 of 01/11.
