Usual hype/PR stunt?
Hi all,
This is most unusual in that it seems that Panerai have announced a new model on their website.
http://www.panerai.com
It's the PAM 372, BUT it has small seconds at 9 and a P3001 movement with 3 day PR indicator at the rear.
What I find very odd is that they have seeked to publicise it now, as it's nowhere near SIHH, and when you click on the link...there is no mention of the watch itself!
What should we make of it all?!
Usual hype/PR stunt?
I just find it incredible....all Panerai models are usually launched at SIHH in January....
The 372 isn't even out yet, and they bring out an improved version....surely it would affect pre-orders for the 372 with people cancelling and going for this one instead. (Unless you prefer the model with no second hand)
They should have waited and announced this in January at SIHH 2012....
that is stunning and one would hope sensibly priced. Probably not,
Model ref. is PAM 422 from what I've read.
Seems like a strange decision in terms of timing to announce this right now and also a bit of a kick in the nuts to those still waiting for their 372's - whether this new model is an SE or not. In one fell swoop Panerai have just made the 372 feel a little less special in my opinion.
I think i prefer the cleaner look of the 372 with no seconds hand but have to admit that i like the 3 day power reserve indicator on the new model - that's a neat touch.
Its also going to be more expensive than the 372 I'd imagine - which means the price will be far from sensible again in my opinion :?
Nice watch. The more Panerai do to upset the 'Pamily' the more I love them
Cheers
Joe
:love4:
But will be limited to 2000 pieces...
Any idea about the price?
Rgds,
Michael
47mm is too big imho
Damn thats an annoying website. html>flash for info.
Not another new PAM, every year I fall in love with a different model - this insanity must stop!! (and I like watches also)
a panerai 47 mm remains a one to one
very nice
